One possible version:
The Sport I Like Most
As the saying goes, “Life lies in movement. ”Among various sports, I have a strong preference for volleyball.
You cannot imagine how weak I was before junior high school when I would often catch a cold and easily become out of breath. Then I took up volleyball, from which I have gained plenty of benefits. Through daily training, not only does it help build up my strength and develop my character, but it also makes me aware of the importance of team spirit. Besides, by cooperating with my teammates, I make more friends.
All in all, volleyball gives me a body full of strength and a mind crazy about sports. Let's enjoy the pleasure and benefits of sports together!
第二节
One possible version:
With excitement, I called the president of Global Television. It wasn't long before Mr. Slaight was on the phone. I had practiced what I was going to say for thousands of times. After a brief introduction, I said, “ I heard that your studio is actively seeking for quality individuals for your new show. I want to be an addition to your studio. ”To my delight, Mr. Slaight offered me a chance to try out for the show. At the studio, everything went beautifully and they hired me on the spot.
A week later, my big day for the stage came. I was about to get on the stage when negative thoughts flooded into my mind. “What if the audience don’t like me?” Then with my father's words echoing in my mind, I replaced the negative thoughts with positive ones. “This is going to be the best show ever. You are going to just shine!” I told myself. My positive thinking worked. Soon I restored my confidence. It turned out a good show and was the beginning of my hundreds of television shows. And my success came from picking up the courage to make that phone call.
听力部分录音材料
(Text 1)
W:How is the movie you watched yesterday? I heard it was interesting.
M:Well, the plot was not good as expected and the special effects failed to match its title.
But Job thought it was amusing.
(Text2)
M:I must hand in this project this Thursday. But I have only finished half of it.
W:You really need to hurry. That's 2 days away.
(Text 3)
W:You did a wonderful job and the machine works perfectly now. You really deserve a medal
for your work.
M:You know, it's much easier than designing a product.
(Text 4)
W:I want to see the manager. There is something wrong with the radio bought yesterday.
M:What's the matter, madam?
W:Look, there is a green light when you turn it on, but then nothing happened.
M:I see, I'll change a new one for you.
(Text 5)
M:Have you read about the book I, Robot written by Asimov?
W:Yes, my friend Jackson recommended it to me. I'm fond of it. And three laws of robot are
developed in this book.
(Text 6)
M:Hey, how about going to the newly-built museum this weekend for a change?
W:That sounds a lot of fun. How should we get there? I can drive my car.
M:Maybe we should take the subway, instead. It will be a lot less stressful than driving.
And it is better for the environment.
W:The only problem is that I'll miss the freedom that I have with a car.
M:Then we can ride a bike. That will give you just as much freedom as your car usually provides.
W:Ok, that's a deal.
(Text 7)
M:This food tastes terrible! I can't believe this restaurant is so highly recommended on Yelp.
W:Yeah, I know. We shouldn't have trusted a website when choosing the restaurant. My best luck with places to eat has always come from talking to friends.
M:Since we're here now, we might as well enjoy ourselves. My drink is pretty good. I think I'll order another one.
W:Yes, we can just leave our food and enjoy a piece of pizza on the way home.
M:That's a good idea.
W:What is Susan doing recently? I haven't seen her for ages.
M:Well, she was busy preparing for her chemistry examination. Maybe we could invite her over for dinner next weekend.
W:Ok, I'll give Susan a call this week.
(Text 8)
W:Mike, do you have some opinions about improving English? I'm not good at it.
M:Well, cellphones, Voice phones, Internet phones all can provide us with opportunities to learn English while we're on the go.
W:Wow, I haven't realized there are so many choices now.
M:Yes, in the past, we were limited to learning English in the classroom. But now, with different phone services, we can even surf the Internet, download music we like on the cellphones. This is all part of distance education.
W:But I don't know how to improve my oral English.
M:Here are two simple things for you to do; first, plan a regular conversation with a friend in English, two or three times a week; second, think of a topic of conversation beforehand so you can have time to consider the language structures, vocabulary, and expressions you can use.
W:Ok, I can have a try with that.
(Text 9)
W:Hello, Oxford Travel Agency. What can I do for you?
M:I'd like to book a skiing holiday this winter in Sweden. Can you recommend me some economic routes?
W:Have you skied before?
M:No, but my friends went in January last year. They stayed in Aqua Center and paid $450 each. But the most I can afford is $400. And when's the cheapest time to go?
W:Well, December is the most expensive month. September and October are relatively cheaper. Can you go in October?
M:October is too late for me, so I'll go earlier.
W:Then we have two budget routes for you. Both cost $350. You can either choose to go by train and live in a small cottage in the mountain, or you can catch the earliest flight at 5:30 a. m. and live in Holiday Hotel.
M:I'd prefer the former.
W:OK. The Holiday Inn will be best for you.
(Text 10)
W:Let's make our way back out the main entrance of the library. On the left is the Student Service building. The staff there help students with a range of things, such as finding apartments and part-time jobs and even personal, financial or academic problems. To the right of the Student Service building is the sports center. It's used by staff and students. Apart from different exercise equipment, members can take a variety of classes in basketball and dance. The building over there, in the corner, is where the Department of Science is located. Follow me through the garden. This is the most relaxing part of the schoolyard. It'sagreat place to eat lunch or take a rest. If we continue out of the garden, we reach the Cafeteria. A lot of hot and cold food is sold here and you can get everything from a sandwich to dumplings. On the other side of the Cafeteria is the Arts building. Students often perform musicals and plays there. Behind the courtyard is the Information Technology building. If we continue on past the courtyard, we come to the Engineering building and behind that, in the right corner, is the Main Education Centre. This is where students from overseas take courses that prepare them for studying at our university.
