Self－study 1：

Self－study the new words：festival，dear，student，thing，term，busy，time，there.First learn to pronounce them according to the phonetic symbols.Then you can listen to the tapes to help you pronounce them correctly or ask others for help if you have any problems.

Self－study 2：

Read the school notice in Part 2b.Underline the important expressions and finish the chart.

Self－study 3：

Finish the exercises in Part 3a and Self Check 2.
