Section B (1a-1e)

I. Teaching aims：

1) Knowledge and skills : 

1. Master the new words: hot , cold, cool, warm, dry

2.Master the target language ,and go on learning the Preasent  Progressive Tense.

3. The students can finish the listening activities in this class, and role-play the conversation after listening.

2) Process and methods:

Improve the students’listening and speaking abilities, great interest and language outputs by talking about pictures,watching videos,and making conversations in real life.

3)   Emotion and attitudes:

Train the students’ cooperative spirit and ability by more teamwork tasks.

II. Teaching important and difficult points:

1). Important points:

Vocabulary ：hot , cold, cool, warm, dry

     Target language：A: what are you doing?

B: I am ...

A: How is the weather in…?

B：It’s sunny/warm…

A: How’s it going?

                     B: Great/Pretty good/Just so-so/Not bad/Terrible.     

2). Difficult points: how to lead students to master the language effectively and get more interest in English.

III. Teaching procedures:

1．Greeting and Review:

1）Quik Eyes: review the words and sentences:  sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, snowy...

  How’s the weather?   It’s…..

  What are you doing ?  We are …..

  How’s it going?       It’s….

2) Talk about the weather in different cities in China today.

2﹒Lead-in

1）   Watch a cartoon video

2）   运用图片引出新单词hot，cold, cool, war，dry

3）   教师领读， 学生齐读，个别读 。 

3. Presentation:

1) Finishing 1a and 1b:

Pair work: Make a conversation﹕

T: How’s the weather in picture d?

S: It’s hot.

T: What is he doing?  

S: He is ...

Activity 1: Weather online: How’s the weather in Gansu Province?

2）Do the listening: 1c, 1d

a﹒Play the tape for the students,and finish 1c(完成1c部分表格,并核对答案)  Answers: not bad

b﹒通过脸部表情图片教句型

A: How’s it going?

    B: Great/Pretty good/Just so-so/Not bad/Terrible.

c﹒根据1d题目要求。再放一遍录音，完成1c表格,并核对答案Answers: Maria: I’m visiting my grandmother.  Hot dry and sunny.    Eric: I’m having a party. Terrible Cold and raining.

d﹒听录音，跟读 并让学生大声朗读录音内容,并在教师提示下复述其中的重点句子。

I’m having a party.   I am visiting my grandmother.   How is the weather?  It’s hot and humid. How is it going?  It is great..

3) Come to 1e:Role play a conversation between Maria and Eric . Ask and answer these questions:

How is it going? What are you doing? How’s the weather?

 (环节说明：小组合作活动，鼓励学生联系实际，创新对话，并由个别组表演，对表现好的表扬)

4. Activity 2:  Who is the best weather reporter? （情景模拟，鼓励学生实现真实语言的输出，已达到学以致用的教学目的。）

5. Homework:

  1) Make a conversation:

情景：（Talking on the phone）

假设你在London的朋友Mary今天过生日，请打电话给她，了解最近的情况和当地的天气情况，并询问她正在做什么。
