根据第三段中第一句“The indoor 115,000 square feet amusement park includes family-friendly rides like a merry-go-rounds, happy swing and dizzy dragons. (11.5万平方英尺的室内游乐园包括适合家庭使用的游乐设施,如旋转木马、快乐秋千和晕眩的龙)”可知,在这里游客可以和家人一起玩旋转木马。故选C。
    【3题详解】
细节理解题。根据文中第四段第一句“Everything’s bigger in Bloomington, including America’s largest indoor theme park, the seven-acre Nickelodeon Universe in the Mall of America Here, your family can enjoy 27 rides that rang from the toddlers Wonder Pet’s Flyboat to the thrilling big kids-only Avatar Airbender. (布鲁明顿的一切都更大,包括美国最大的室内主题公园,美国购物中心的7英亩的Nickelodeon Universe。在这里,你的家人可以享受27个游乐项目,从蹒跚学步的神奇宠物快艇到令人兴奋的大孩子专用的阿凡达御气术)”所以,蹒跚学步的指的就是小孩子,所以神奇的宠物快艇是为小孩子准备的。故选D。
    B
A trip to the library was like a great journey to a different country. To get there, we had to walk a mile. But our weekly journeys to the library were a piece of perfection. I had around me at one time all the people I loved best-my father and mother and brothers and sister-and all the things I loved best-quiet, space, and books.
I read a lot of books about science: not the spaceships my brothers preferred, but the birds and bees-literally. I brought home a book of birds and searched the trees for anything other than robins (知更鸟). I went through a phase of loving books with practical science experiments and used up a whole bottle of white vinegar by pouring it on the sides of our apartment building to prove that it was constructed of limestone (石灰石).
One Saturday, as I wandered through the young adult section, I saw a title: Little Women, by Lousia May Alcott. I had learned from experience that titles weren’t everything. A book that sounded great on the shelf could be dull once you got it home.
So I sat in a chair near the shelves to skim the first paragraphs. I read and read and read Little Women until it was time to walk home, and, except for a few essential interruptions like sleeping and eating. I did not put it down until the end. Even the freedom to watch weekend television held no appeal for me in the wake of Alcott’s story. It was about girls, for one thing, girls who could almost be like me, especially Jo. I had found someone who thought and felt the way I did.
    4. What can we say about the author’s family?
    A. They were travel fans. B. They were bookworms.
    C. They were against watching TV D. They held seminars in the library.
    5. What is Paragraph 2 mainly intended to convey?
    A. Her different attitudes towards nature.
    B. Her experiments of science.
    C. Her reason of studying birds and bees.
    D. Her reading craze at one time.
    6. What is the author’s belief in book reading?
    A. Book titles might be misleading.
    B. Science books are more interesting than arts books.
    C. Repetitive reading is important.
    D. All books need to be digested.
    7. What effect did Little Women produce on the author?
    A. She was totally transformed. B. It made her sleepless and tasteless.
    C. She was heartbroken. D. It kept her absorbed.
B 5. D 6. A 7. D
根据第一段中“But our weekly journeys to the library were a piece of perfection. I had around me at one time all the people I loved best-my father and mother and brothers and sister-and all the things I loved best-quiet, space, and books. (但我们每周去图书馆旅程是完美的。曾经有一段时间,所有我最爱的人都围绕在我身边——爸爸、妈妈、兄弟姐妹——还有所有我最爱的东西——安静、空间和书籍。)”可以推知,作者一家人都是书虫。故选B项。
    【5题详解】
推理判断题。根据第二段中“I read a lot of books about science: not the spaceships my brothers preferred, but the birds and bees-literally. I brought home a book of birds and searched the trees for anything other than robins. I went through a phase of loving books with practical science experiments and used up a whole bottle of white vinegar by pouring it on the sides of our apartment building to prove that it was constructed of limestone.
根据第三段中“I had learned from experience that titles weren’t everything. A book that sounded great on the shelf could be dull once you got it home. (我的经验告诉我,书名并不是一切。一本在书架上听起来很棒的书,一旦你拿回家,可能就变得乏味了。)”可以推知,作者认为书名可能会误导读者。故选A项。
根据最后一段中“I read and read and read Little Women until it was time to walk home, and, except for a few essential interruptions like sleeping and eating. I did not put it down until the end. Even the freedom to watch weekend television held no appeal for me in the wake of Alcott’s story. (我读啊,读啊,读《小妇人》,一直读到该走回家的时候,除了一些必要的干扰,比如睡觉和吃饭。直到最后我才把它放下。在Alcott的故事之后,就连周末看电视的自由对我也没有吸引力了。)”可以推知,《小妇人》这部书使作者非常着迷。故选D项。
    C
Chinese astronauts conducted a science lecture 400 kilometers above Earth to millions of students on Thursday afternoon, as they orbited in the Tiangong space station. All members of the Shenzhou XII mission crew, Zhai Zhigang, Ye Guangfu and Wang Yaping, the only woman on the mission, greeted students, teachers and other participants when the lecture started at 3:54 pm. They showed viewers how they live and work inside the space station, which currently consists of a core module, a spacecraft and two robotic cargo spaceships.
The astronauts displayed their exercise equipment and a specially designed space suit, and conducted demonstrations on physical phenomena in microgravity, such as “disappearing buoyancy” and a “water ball”. Ye, who is on his first spaceflight, showed how he rotated his body in the weightless environment. The astronauts also answered questions from students during the lecture.
Tens of millions of primary and middle school students across China watched the hour-long televised event. A total of 1,420 invited students were present at “ground class venues”, with some taking part in video chats with the crew members during the lecture.
It was the first lecture of the Tiangong Class, or Heavenly Palace Class, China’s first extraterrestrial (地球外的) lecture series to popularize space science.
More lectures will be held based on the country’s manned spaceflights and will also be presented by Chinese astronauts, the manned space agency said.
Shi Yi, a physics teacher at the Beijing No. 101 Middle School, said the space lecture was an eye-opening experience that would ignite students’ interest in science.
Wang Yihan, a fifth-grade student at the Yuxin School, said: “The astronauts’ experiments really intrigued and surprised me. I have great interest in spaceflight and would like to take part in our country’s space exploration program in the future.”
Vincent Wong Wai-shing, deputy principal of Hong Kong’s Pui Kiu College, said after watching the lecture that the event gave Hong Kong students an opportunity to communicate with the astronauts while stimulating their interest in space and science.
    8. What do we know about the lecture conducted in space?

    10. What docs the underlined word mean?
    A. Astonished. B. Puzzled. C. Interested. D. Tricked.
    11. Which section can you read about the passage in the newspaper?
    A. Science & Technology. B. Space exploration.
    C. Economy development. D. Innovative teaching.
A 9. D 10. C 11. B
根据第一段“Chinese astronauts conducted a science lecture 400 kilometers above Earth to millions of students on Thursday afternoon, as they orbited in the Tiangong space station. All members of the Shenzhou XII mission crew, Zhai Zhigang, Ye Guangfu and Wang Yaping, the only woman on the mission, greeted students, teachers and other participants when the lecture started at 3:54 pm.(周四下午,当中国宇航员在天宫空间站绕轨道飞行时,他们在离地球400公里的高空对数百万学生进行了科学讲座。下午3点54分讲座开始时,神舟十二号任务组全体成员翟志刚、叶光富和王亚萍(任务中唯一的女性)向学生、老师和其他参与者致意)”和第三段的“Tens of millions of primary and middle school students across China watched the hour-long televised event.(中国各地数千万中小学生观看了这个长达一小时的电视活动)”可知,这次由三名中国宇航员进行的讲座持续了将近一个小时。故选A。
根据倒数第二段的“Wang Yihan, a fifth-grade student at the Yuxin School, said: ‘The astronauts’ experiments really intrigued and surprised me. I have great interest in spaceflight and would like to take part in our country’s space exploration program in the future.’(王一涵,育新学校一名五年级学生 ,说:“宇航员的实验真的引起了我的兴趣,也让我感到惊讶。我对太空飞行很感兴趣,将来想参加我国的太空探索计划。”)”可推断,参加“地面课堂”的学生认为这次太空授课令人惊讶,激发了自己对太空探索的兴趣,说明学生高度赞扬这次太空授课。故选D。
    【10题详解】
词句猜测题。根据倒数第二段的“I have great interest in spaceflight and would like to take part in our country’s space exploration program in the future.(我对太空飞行很感兴趣,将来想参加我国的太空探索计划)”可知,王一涵对太空飞行很感兴趣,将来想要参与国家的太空探索,因此推断划线句“The astronauts’ experiments really intrigued and surprised me.”
根据第一段“Chinese astronauts conducted a science lecture 400 kilometers above Earth to millions of students on Thursday afternoon, as they orbited in the Tiangong space station.(周四下午,中国宇航员在天宫空间站绕轨道飞行时,在距地球400公里的高空向数百万学生进行了一次科学讲座)”以及下文内容可知,文章主要讲述中国宇航员在空间站进行的太空授课,应该属于太空探索板块。故选B。

You’re often served by young people at restaurants. But Forget Me Not Cafe in Shanghai is different.
The cafe has eight elderly employees with cognitive impairments (认知障碍) who take turns working with other waiters to help customers. They often provide basic services for guests, such as pouring water, serving and taking orders.
“The guests are also very tolerant of us, because sometimes we make mistakes,” said Zhu Caiping, one of the elderly employees at the cafe. Sometimes, they are also invited to take part in welfare activities organized by volunteers, such as baking, dancing and learning English.
“These activities are essential for me. They reactivate my brain,” the 73-year-old said. “What old people like us worry about most is that our brain stagnates (停滞) due to being inactive.”
Because of memory loss, Zhu writes down all the information she wants to remember on sticky notes, such as the names of the volunteers and the teacher as well as English words. “But I really became happy and confident because of being here,” she said.
In addition to the job opportunities for the elderly, information about cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease is posted on a board outside the restaurant to help people recognize symptoms and seek treatment as soon as possible.
Zeng Rong, a co-founder of the restaurant, said the cafe has had a great impact on elderly people with cognitive impairment.
A 58-year-old woman from Jiangsu province, whose husband brings her to the restaurant, is an example. “When she came here for the first time, she barely said a word and was indifferent. I told her that she must communicate and gave her homework every time with rewards,” Zhu said. The woman has since come to the restaurant every Friday, and after several months, her condition has improved.
“She started to comment that the food was ‘delicious’ and speak with others. Moreover, she began to hug me every time,” Zhu said.
Inspired by their kindness, many young people like to come and enjoy the warm atmosphere of the shop.
    12. What do we know about Forget Me Not Cafe?

上文“I’m coming to the end of my first semester in Italy, and I couldn’t be happier. I have met some incredible people, seen some beautiful places and also learned how to cook pasta properly.(我在意大利的第一个学期就要结束了,我非常高兴。我遇到了一些不可思议的人,看到了一些美丽的地方,也学会了如何正确地煮意大利面)”可知,我很开心,在意大利留学第一个学期快结束了,遇见不可思议的人,游览了漂亮地方,还会煮意大利面,各方面都很好。下文“However, there are definitely some things that I’ve had to remind myself along the way.(然而,在这一过程中,我确实需要提醒自己一些事情)”可知,前后情况有转折,设空处依旧是开心的事,E项“Also, I would like to think that my Italian has improved.(还有,我想我的意大利语已经提高了)”可知,这也是令我开心的事,“also”表明:前一句和此句为并列关系,且上下文连贯通顺。故选E项。
本段小标题“Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.(不要给自己太大的压力)”,上文“ The more frustrated you become when you don’t pick something up right away, the less you absorb. (当你不能轻松地学会啥时,你越失意沮丧的,你掌握得就越少)” 可知,学习时压力过大会适得其反,要适当调整心态。C项“Adopt the European way and relax a little.(采用欧洲人的方式,放松一点)”顺接上文,下文“Improvement is gradual, and you won’t notice that you’ve improved for a while.(进步是循序渐进的,一段时间内你不会注意到自己的进步)”可知,要进步不是一蹴而就的,要以放松的心态看待进步这件事,这一句话解释了学会放松的原因。故选C项。
本题考查小标题,由本段第一句“Even if you haven’t mastered an Italian accent, or don’t know a particular word, everyone will appreciate it if you just try. Sometimes, saying an English word with a slightly more Italian accent turns everyone will appreciate it if you just try(即使你还没有掌握意大利语口音,或者不知道一个特定的单词,只要你尝试一下,每个人都会欣赏你的。有时候,用稍微多一点的意大利口音说一个英语单词会让每个人都喜欢你,如果你尝试的话)”可知,此处有复现句子“everyone will appreciate it ”,只要你愿意尝试说,大家都会欣赏你,欣赏你的努力。A项“People appreciate effort.” 故选A项。
上文“Such a huge part of learning to speak another language is being confident enough to actually say what you’re thinking out loud. (学会说另一门语言的一个重要部分就是足够自信地把你想说的话大声说出来)”可知,作为一个刚来了一个学期的留学生,很需要自信。G项“It’s OK to be nervous to say things you aren’t 100 percent sure about.(因为你不能百分之百确定你说的内容而感到紧张。这种情况也是正常的)”可知,作者作为刚到不久的留学生,对自己说的内容没有把握,表现出“不自信”。但是,正如小标题“Confidence comes with time(自信随时间而来)”,下文“And after a while you realize that you’ve stopped being nervous at all.(过了一段时间,你意识到你已经不再紧张了)”,可知,随着时间的推移,作者变得越来越自信。
上文“There are definitely moments when I think I can’t keep up—especially if there is more than one conversation happening simultaneously or if someone takes me by surprise.Needless to say, one of the first phrases I picked up here was how to ask someone to repeat themselves.(有时候,我肯定会觉得自己跟不上节奏——尤其是当有不止一段对话同时发生,或者有人让我措手不及的时候。不用说,我在这里学到的第一个短语就是如何让别人重复自己的话)”可知,作者因为语言问题,与人交流跟不上节奏,所以会追问别人,让人重复刚说过的话。由第一段倒数第二句“Also, I would like to think that my Italian has improved.” D项“Big thanks to my friends for being unbelievably patient.(非常感谢我的朋友们的难以置信的耐心)”与上文承接顺畅。故选D项。

The whole class burst out laughing as John rushed into the classroom. He was a strange sight. His half-buttoned white shirt revealed a red striped pajama top underneath, and instead of white school shoes, he had on a pair of bright green sandals (凉鞋) that were too big in size. The physics teacher’s hand froze in the middle of writing a formula on the blackboard.
John murmured, “Sorry, teacher,” and quickly stepped to his seat. Mr. Tan glared at the rest of the students. The laughter quickly died down. John’s classmates always looked forward to Mondays. Nine times out of ten, they would be entertained by John’s late arrival and his odd appearance which usually included inappropriate clothing. That day, it was the pajama top and green sandals.
John lived just a street away from the school. He walked to school daily. Students passing by in buses would yell his name together just to see him jump and stop in his tracks. Although John was adorable, he was too lost in his own thoughts to make friends. His classmates found him amusing but they ignored him most of the time. Only Harry, who sat next to John, tried to be his friend.
The following Monday, John did not turn up at school. His classmates were a little disappointed but quickly forgot about him. After school, Harry decided to walk over to John’s house to check on him. As he approached the gate, he could hear violin music. John must be listening to music, he thought. The gate was not locked. Harry let himself in. He called John’s name a few times but there was no response. The music played on. Harry peered in through a window. His eyes widened in surprise. In the middle of the living room, John was playing the violin. His eyes were closed in concentration as he drew the bow over the strings expertly. He played perfectly, so much so that it sounded like a recording. Harry left quietly.
    注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;
    2. 请按如下格式作答。
    Paragraph 1
When Teacher’s Day came around, Harry had a plan.

On the day of the concert, both the teachers and students were surprised to see the school’s clumsiest student walking on stage with a violin.
When he started to play, the audience fell silent. Jaws dropped. Everyone was stricken dumb with amazement and also carried away by the beautiful notes flowing from the strings. There were no more judgments on John’s dressing or behavior, but the entertainment by his remarkable performance. As the last note ended, there was a moment of silence. Then the audience erupted into thunderous applause. John became a sensation and had many fans in his final year of school though he still arrives to class wearing an inside-out shirt or mismatched shoes.
