Language

practice

Let the Ss read and recite the sentences in Language practice and then fill in the blanks.

When are you leaving ________

how long are you going to stay there?

It sounds crazy, _________ I don’t know what to take.

通过让学生背诵记忆句子, 可以更好地理解but,  and,  or连接的并列句。

Step 2

Free talk

1. Have a free talk with students.

Summer holiday is coming. Where are you going?

2. Play a game.

Have the students make sentences with“but,  and,  or”one by one about travelling in groups .

Answer the questions.

Make sentences with“but,  and,  or”one by one about travelling in groups. The one who makes the most correct sentence wins the game.

1. Let the students work in pairs, join the two parts of the sentences with “and,  or,  but”.  Then say them out.  (Activity 1)

2. Work in groups of four,  read and complete the passage with “and, but,  or” in Activity2.  Then call back the answers.

3. Read the advertisement and complete the sentences with the words or expression in the box in pairs in Activity 4.

4. Work in pairs.  Imagine that you are going to take a summer English course in Australia.  Write down questions about the course.  Use the words or expression in the box in Activity 4 to help you. (Activity 5)

5. Complete the conversation with the words and expressions in the box. (Activity 6)

6. Have the students listen to the tape and answer the questions.  (Activity 7) Then call back the answers.

7. Have the students listen again and complete the advertisement.  (Activity 8)

8. Around the world.

Organize the whole class to read it once and let the Ss answer the questions:

①Where are the children going for their summer camp in Canada and the US? 

②How long will they stay there?

4. Work in groups and write down questions about the course.  (Activity 5)
