    教材分析
    本单元是七年级下册英语第五单元的内容,主要围绕谈论动物和表达对动物的喜好这一话题展开各种教学活动。本课时是第五单元的第四课时,前几个课时的学习已经让学生对动物有了初步的感知,能够对动物的外貌及能力等进行简单的交流。本节课是一节读写课,主要培养学生的阅读技能,通过本节课的学习让学生在潜意识里知道爱护动物、保护濒危动物的重要性。
    学情分析
    作为初一的学生,英语基础还是比较薄弱,处于这一年龄段的学生还有一个共同的特征——羞于表达。但是本课题是关于动物的,是学生们比较熟悉的话题,容易引起学生的兴趣。通过前三个课时学习,学生已经能够简单的描述动物,能够和同学简单交流一下自己喜欢的动物,为本节课做了很好的铺垫。阅读课对于学生来说是困难的,尤其阅读技能和总结能力是学生们所欠缺的,本节课在传授技能的同时还要注意向学生们渗透爱护动物这一概念,要注意结合学生的实际生活。

    学习生词和短语:save, remember, frget, a symbl f, be in great danger, kill sth. fr...
    在阅读材料中学习大象的情况及能力。
    学习如何拯救野生动物。
    学习略读和细读的阅读方法。
    过程与方法:通过图片的形式导入引出话题,运用任务型阅读的方式培养学生的阅读技能,以讨论的形式理解文章内容。
    情感态度价值观:以大象数量锐减的现状及原因勾起学生们的同情心,培养他们保护野生动物的意识。
    教学重点
    培养学生的阅读技能。
    读懂阅读材料。
    教学难点
    培养学生总结题目和段意的能力。

    Step 1 Greeting and leading in
    T: Class begins.
    Ss: Gd afternn, teacher!
    T: Gd afternn, bys and girls! Sit dwn, please. Befre the class, I’ll shw yu a picture. Lk at the picture. Can yu guess what animals my favrite are?
    Ss: Elephants.
    T: Yes. Yu are s clever. My favrite animal is elephant. I think elephants are very smart and friendly.

    Step 2 Shwing learning aims
    T: Befre this, let’s lk at learning aims. Nw yu can skim the learning aims. (Explain the learning aims in Chinese. )
    Step 3 Warming up
    T: Tday ur tpic is elephant, right? (Write an elephant n the blackbard.) Hw much d yu knw abut elephants? Fr example, where are they frm?
    Ss: They are frm Thailand.
    T: Lk at this picture. This is the Thailand’s flag. And next ne is the first flag f Thailand. This elephant is a symbl f gd luck. S elephant is ne f Thailand’s symbls. And d yu knw what they can d?
    Ss: They can dance, play sccer, ...
    T: S what d yu think f them?
    Ss: They are very smart.
    T: But nw, they are in great danger. Why? Why are they in great danger? D yu knw? Let’s lk at the slide. I think yu will watch elephants shws. Befre the shws, peple will hit them, tie them and train them. This is ne f the reasn. And anther reasn is that peple kill them fr their ivry. The number f elephants is reducing due t all kinds f causes.

    Step 4 Skimming
    Task 1
    T: Nw there is an article n the website abut elephants. Yu can skim the article and then check the best title fr it. When yu read the article, please underline the tpic sentence.

    Task 2
    T:OK. Nw let’s lk at task 2. Please find the tpic sentence f each paragraph. First, lk at the reading tip. (Explain the reading tip in Chinese.) let’s read the article tgether.

    T: When yu answer the questin, yu can say that like this:

    (设计意图:此环节主要为解决学生们无法翻译的句子,是学生们能够清楚文章的所有细节,同时,也是为完成2c做准备。)
    Step 7 Careful reading
    T: Please read the paragraph tgether and fill in the blanks. When yu read it, yu can underline the tpic sentence. And when yu answer the questin, yu can say the answer and the tpic sentence.

    T: In the wrld, nt nly the elephants are in great danger. Lk at the slide, peple kill many kinds f wild animals, they are als in great danger. Peple kill antelpes fr their hrns. Peple kill tigers fr their fur. Peple kill elephants fr their ivry. They are in great danger. What shuld we d?
    Ss: We shuld save them.

    优点:
    图片是导入能让学生迅速了解要学习的主题。
    在热身部分以问题Hw much d yu knw abut elephants?为切入点,渗透重点句型①ne f +可数名词复数②a symbl f... "是...的象征/标志"③kill ... fr… "为了...而杀...",为阅读文章做铺垫。
    在本节课当中主要培养了学生的阅读技能和总结能力。
    本节课的最后以图片的形式感染学生,意图激发学生的同情心,进行情感教育,呼吁学生们保护动物。
    缺点:
    本节课当中最大的缺点就是对于时间把握的不好,出现了严重的超时现象,导致最后的情感教育没有达到想要的效果。
    板书总结有点儿早,显得有点儿突然,导致学生们跟不上节奏。
    在2c部分的处理不恰当,虽然在这一部分学生读的次数不少,问题处理的很细致,但也浪费了不少时间,这也是导致这次超时的直接原因。
    在解决学生们翻译不通的句子的时候浪费了一些时间。
    解决办法:
    在做段意连线的题的同时直接完成2c的题,一段一段的分析,这样学生可能对文章细节更加清晰,一气呵成,这样也能降低2c的难度。
    讨论文章大意是好的,但是在学生不懂之处讲讲汉译就行了,下节课再细讲,这不是本节课的重点,一笔带过,这样还能节省时间,避免出现超时的情况。
    板书应当在结束了2c的任务之后再总结,这样效果会更好。
