精讲点拨

1. draw的用法。

draw v. 画

【辨析】draw 与 paint：两者都有“画”的意思，但含义有所不同。

eg：I'll draw a car and you can color it.  我来画一辆车，你给它涂上颜色。

We learnt how to draw buildings in perspective. 我们学习如何用透视法画建筑物。

Mary paints well.  玛丽很会画画。

2. play的用法。

❶ play与棋牌类或球类名词连用，表示“参加竞技、比赛或球类运动”，可译作“打，踢，下(棋)”等。此时名词前不加任何冠词。

eg：play basketball 打篮球 play soccer/football 踢足球  play volleyball 打排球

play Chinese chess下中国象棋

❷ play与乐器类名词连用，表示“演奏，弹奏，吹奏”，此时名词前必须加定冠词the。

eg：play the guitar 弹吉他  play the piano 弹钢琴  play the violin 拉小提琴

play the drums 敲鼓

3. speak English 说英语

❶ speak在此作及物动词，意为“说(某种语言)”，其后常接表示语言的名词作宾语。

eg：Can you speak Chinese? 你会讲中文吗？

❷ speak还可作不及物动词，意为“说话”。通常指说话的能力或方式。

eg：The baby can’t speak. 那个小宝宝不会说话。

Please speak a little slowly. 请讲慢一点儿。

【辨析】：talk, say, speak与tell

eg：Jenny and Mary can speak English well. 珍妮和玛丽英语说得很好。

I often say “hello” to her with a smile. 我常笑着向她问好。

Amy always talks about clothes with her friends. 艾米总是和朋友们谈论衣服。

Last week, Mum told me not to ride a bike quickly. It's too dangerous.

上周，妈妈告诉我不要骑自行车太快。太危险了。

Mr. Li often tells us interesting stories. 李先生经常给我们讲有趣的故事。

4. I want to join the art club. 我想参加美术社团。

join v. 参加；加入

【辨析】join 与 take part in：两者都有“参加”的意思，但含义有所不同。

eg：We’ll take part in some after-school activities. Would you like to join us?

我们将参加一些课外活动。你想加入我们吗？

My younger brother wants to join the army.  我弟弟想参军。

He joined the photography club last week.  他上周加入了摄影俱乐部。

5. 情态动词can的用法。

❶ 情态动词can在陈述句中多表示做某事的能力“能，会”，或者推测“可能”。没有人称和数的变化，其后应接动词原形，一起构成谓语。

eg：Her younger sister can speak English.  她的妹妹会讲英语。

He can swim.  他会游泳。

He can be at home.  他可能在家。

❷ “Can you…?”在一般疑问句可以表示向对方提出请求或者自己要求给予许可。其肯定回答为“Yes, I can.”，否定回答为“No, I can’t.”。

eg：Can I help you? 我能帮你忙吗？

Can you go to the picnic with us tomorrow? 明天你能和我们一起去野餐吗？

— Can you ride a bike? 你会骑自行车吗？

— Yes, I can. /No, I can’t. 是的，我会。/不，我不会。

6. What about you? 你呢？

“What about... ?”是常用的交际用语，后面可接名词、代词或动词 -ing 形式，相当于“How about... ?” ，可用来询问情况或征求意见。

eg：I want a cup of tea. What about you? 我想要一杯茶，你呢？(询问情况)

What about playing the guitar? 弹吉他怎么样？(征求意见)

7. You’re very good at telling stories. 你很擅长讲故事。

❶ be good at...相当于do well in... ，其后可接名词、代词或动词-ing 形式。

eg：She is good at art. 她擅长美术。

Lucy loves playing chess and she is good at it.露西爱下国际象棋，而且她很擅长它。

Rick is good at playing basketball. 里克擅长打篮球。

❷ tell v. 告诉；讲述 tell sb. sth.= tell sth. to sb. 告诉某人某事 tell sb. (not) to do sth. 告诉某人（不要）做某事

eg：The teacher tells students a story every day. 老师每天给学生讲述一个故事。

My mother tells me not to play soccer in the street. 妈妈告诉我不要在街上踢足球。

【辨析】：be good for, be good at, be good with与be good to

eg：You 're very good at telling stories. 你很擅长讲故事。

She is good at playing chess.= She does well in playing chess. 她擅长下国际象棋。

Eating vegetables is good for health.  吃蔬菜对你的健康有益。

I'm good at (playing) basketball.  我擅长（打）篮球。

He is good with children.  他善于应付孩子。管理孩子有一套。

He is good to me.  他对我很友好。
