    Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?
        英语里的书面表达,顾名思义,就是根据内容提示,围绕话题和中心,用语言来“达意”。它本身并不困难,但要顺利的完成必须要经历“读懂题意——分析后确定人称和时态——写出关键词——连词成句——检查、完善”这样一个过程,很多同学在第一步或者第二步就“卡”住了,以至于后面就无法进行了。有的同学好不容易进入第三步了,可是由于平时的基础弱,单词不会写,短语不会用,所以又“无从下笔”了。在第四步的时候,由于对句子结构、语法等不太熟悉,导致写的句子不成句子或者不能“达意”。偶有进入最后一关的,由于平时积累的句子比较少,不会使用关联词和优美的句子,也使得文章空空动动,没有亮色。为了解决大家的实际问题,今天,我就来给大家讲一讲八年级下册英语书面表达如何突破。
        以人教版英语八年级下册第单元为例,这个单元的标题是:Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?中文意思是:“当暴风雨来的时候你正在做什么?”我们常说的书面表达是要围绕一定话题进行的,而这个“话题”,一般都会在标题中折射出来。从标题以及这个单元的教学内容可以看出,单元的写作要体现过去进行时所以,这个单元与以往单元不同的是,除了积累短语和句型,还要牢固掌握过去进行时的用法,学会正确运用。    我们以书上第40页3b的写作为例,要求根据第39页3a提示,写一篇“三段式”文章。我们先把3a的表格呈现出来,待积累了书上的短语、语法和句子以后,再填写表格并完成文章的书写。What was the event ? When did it happen ? Where did it happen ? What were you doing ? What were your friends doing ? Why was it important ? Why do you remember this event ? 3b部分的提示句子:1、An important event that I remember well was .... It happened in \ on ... at \ in ...2、When I heard the news of the event \ When this event happened I was.... My friends were...3、The event is very important to me because ... \ I remember this event well because...为了完成这篇书面表达,我们先积累素材。在本单元的第一页,以暴风雨来临为话题,介绍了暴风雨来临的时候“我”所处的位置以及正在做的事情,我们要积累一些句子,例如:I was in the library \ in my house \ on the street \ at the bus stop.(我在图书馆\在家里\在街上\在公交车站。)I was doing my homework \ playing basketball \ waiting for the bus \ shopping when the rainstorm came.(当暴风雨来的时候,我正在做作业\打篮球\等车\购物。)注意:此句中过去进行时的结构:be动词(was\were)+动词-ing形式在本单元第二页的听力训练、对话和第三页的Reading部分,也有一些用于书面表达的句子,可以为书面表达“锦上添花”,它们是:1、I was so busy looking for the umrella that I didnt see a car coming.(我忙着寻找我的雨伞以至于我没有看到车来了。)注意:be busy doing sth. 的用法2、I was waiting for the bus when it began to rain heavily.(当雨下得很大的时候,我正在等车。)3、I was in the kitchen helping my mom when you called me at 7:00 last night.(昨天晚上起点钟你打电话来的时候,我正在厨房帮助我的妈妈。)4、So while you were sleeping , I called Jenny and she helped me.(所以,当你在睡觉的时候,我打电话给珍妮并且她帮助了我。)5、Bens dad was putting pieces of wood over the windows while his mom was making sure the flashlights and radio were working.(注意:while 连接两个过去进行时的句子。)6、Although the storm broke many things apart , it brought families and neighbors closer together.另外,在后面的语法听力训练和长文章(Reading)中也有一些书面表达会用到的句子。1、While Linda was sleeping , Jenny was helping Mary with her homework.2、John was taking photos when Mary bought a drink.3、I was doing my homework at 9:00 last Sunday morning.4、When the school basketball competition started , Kate was still making her way to school.5、People often remember what they were doing when they heard the news of important events in history.6、We were eating dinner in the kitchen when we heard the news on the radio.7、Even the date - September 11, 2001 , has meaning to most Americans.(注意:have meaning to sb. 对。。。有意义)8、I was scared that I could hardly think clearly after that.1、有了这些前期准备工作以后,我们就可以进行刚才那篇书面表达了。
        解题思路:
        第一步,根据提示,判断人称时态体裁。(第人称,一般过去时)
        第二步,根据提示,先回答问题并填写表格  What was the event ?The earthquake in SichuanWhen did it happen ?May 12th , 2008Where did it happen ? in Wenchuan, SichuanWhat were you doing ?having P.E classWhat were your friends doing ?playing baketball togetherWhy was it important ?we are helped by many Chinese people Why do you remember this event ?It was a big earthquake , but wedidnt lose our lives or homes   第三步,根据提示,连词成句,并且注意主谓一致以及时态正确运用An important event that I remember well was the big earthquake in China in 2008. It happened on May 12th in Wenchuan , Sichuan. When this event happened I was having P.E class. My friends were playing basketball happily on the playground.The event is very important to me because so many people died and many buildings fell down.Many people also lost their homes. I remember this event well because it was a big earthquake , but weIt was a big earthquake , but we didnt lose our lives or homes. We were helped by many people . 第四步,检查、修改
