辨析 inspect, examine 与check

1) inspect强调检查时注重细节方面的审视。另外inspect 作“视察”解时，主要指官方检查。

eg. The mayor will inspect our school tomorrow.

2) examine主要指通过仔细地观察以找出问题。

eg. My bag was examined carefully when I entered the country.

3) check主要指检验或测试事物的准确性、真实性以确保其正确、安全或处于良好状态。

eg. He checked the temperature everyday before leaving home.

3. according to 根据，根据.........所说

  eg. Students are all put in different groups according to their ability.

Step 1 Observation

例句呈现

 请观察下列几组句子，特别要注意其中谓语动词的用法特征。

1. a. We can’t use our classroom, for it is being painted now.

  b. New functions are being added to cellphones.

  c. Kevin is always being praised by the teacher.

  d. He may be being beaten by his teacher at the very moment.

2. a. It is reported that the water in the lake is not being polluted now.

  b. We are sorry to know that the endangered animals are not being well protected.

3. a. Is money being collected for the new computer center now?

  b. Are the pandas being studied at the research center at present?

4. a. How many new flats are being built in your town?

  b. What measures are being taken to protect these endangered species?

  c. Who is being trained for the coming English speech contest?

Step2 Summarize（小结归纳）

从上面的例句我们可以总结出：

1. 从意义上讲，现在进行时的被动语态表示某被动动作：

(1) 此刻正在进行。如：句组1，a；

(2) 现阶段正在进行。如：句组1，b；

(3) 经常发生，此时常与always连用。如：句组1，c；

(4) 与部分情态动词连用，表示对正在发生动作的推测。如：句组1，d。

2. 从结构上讲，现在进行时的被动语态：

(1) 肯定式为: be (am / is / are) + being + done。如：句组1；

(2) 否定式为: be (am / is / are) + not / never + being + done。如：句组2; 

(3) 一般疑问式为: Be (Am / Is / Are) + 主语 + being + done? 如：句组3;

(4) 特殊疑问式为: 疑问词 + be (am / is / are) + 主语 + being + done? 如：句组4。

3. 被动语态的注意点

  (1) 当不知道动作的执行者是谁，或没有必要指出动作的执行者时，by短语可以省略。

eg. She is writing a letter to her mother.

  = A letter to her mother is being written (by her).

  (2) 有些动词的进行时的主动语态表示被动意义。

eg. The books are printing and you must wait for all the afternoon.

(3) 有些表示感觉的动词（如：wash, clean, cook, look, cut, read, wear, last, feel, draw, write, sell等），用一般现在时表示被动含义；用现在进行时表示主动意义。

eg. a. The material feels soft.

   b. I’m feeling the material.

(4) 在need, require, want, deserve, be worth 后的动名词必修用主动形式。

eg. My watch needs cleaning.

 = My watch needs to be cleaned.
