教学过程

   Step 1 . Warming- up

   Sing an English song “ Merry Christmas ”.

   Step 2 . Presentation

   T: Nowadays an increasing number of Chinese people are fond of celebrating some western festivals. For example, they send chocolate and flowers to their beloved at Christmas. Can you tell me some western festivals?

   S: Yes. Thanksgiving Day, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day.

   T: any more? Halloween ?

   S: Yes. We also have learnt some information about Halloween in this unit.

   T: Here are some questions for you to check how much you still remember.

1. What is Halloween?
2. When is Halloween?
3. How do people celebrate it?

S: ....

T: Yes.  Good. We Chinese also have our own traditional festivals such as Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Spring Festival is the most important in our culture. Just as important as Christmas Day in the west. Please think about these questions.

1. What is Spring Festival?
2. When is Spring Festival?
3. Who celebrates Spring Festival?
4. How do people celebrate it?

   Step 3 . Doing exercise

T: Open your books and do Part B on page 67 according to Millie’s writing plan. 

   Step 4 . retelling the text

   Ask some students to retell the story.

   Step 5 . writing

   Ask Ss to write about their favorite festivals.

   Step 6 . Homework

   Review the words, phrases and sentences of this unit.
