In the sentence, “nthing culd have prepared me fr the wnder …” is similar in meaning t “I was nt prepared fr the wnder …”
2. Althugh the paintings had very different settings, it was their similarities that stayed with me lng after I left the Musée d’Orsay—similarities which can be seen thrughut the Impressinists’ paintings. (Page 31, Lines 28–30)
The wrd “setting” means “the place where smething is r smething happens”. The wrd “set” is a verb, ften used in the phrase “be set in …”
“… it was their similarities that stayed with me …” is an emphatic sentence, in which the subject f their similarities is emphasised.
3. It is als wrthy f nte that Pst-Impressinist painters were nt the nly nes t be influenced by Impressinism–the mvement has had a lasting influence n mdern art, encuraging artists t lk at the wrld frm an entirely new pint f view. (Page 31, Lines 41–44)
In the sentence, the phrase “is wrthy f nte” is similar in meaning t “is wrthy f being nted”, “is wrthy t be nted” and “is wrth nting”.
