Step 1 : Greeting

Greet  the  whole  class  as  usual

Step 2:  Lead --in

Review  what  we  learned  in  Section A  by  asking  and  answering  questions  ,such  as: How  do  you  go  to  school?

Ss :I  take  the  bus.

T: How  long  does  it  take ?

Ss: It  takes  twenty  minutes.

T:How  far  is  it  ?

Ss:It’s  three  kilometers  miles.

Step 3 New  words  ,   1a   and  1b

1 .Learn  new  words  and  1a

Show  some  new  pictures  and  get  the  students  to  understand  what  the  meanings  of  the  words  are .

 Bus  stop ,bus  station,  train  station,  subway  station.

1a  :Match  the  words with  the  pictures.

Then  check  the  answers.

2 .T: How  many  of  you  come  to  school  by  bus?  Please  hands  up!

How  many  of  you  by  bicycle ?

How  many  of  you  on  foot?

Ss: Many  of  us  / Some  of  us / Most  of  us  come  to  school  by  bike/ by  bus  /on  foot.

 T:  How  far  is  it  from  your  house  to  bus  stop？

   How  do  you  go  to  the  bus  stop , by  bike or  on  foot?

Ss: First  I  walk  to  the  bus  stop . Then  I  take  the  bus  to  school./

 3 . 1b  Two  students  read  the  dialogue  to  the  class.  Ask  the  students  to  make  their  own  conversation.

Then  ask  different  pairs  of  students  to  present  their  own  conversations.

A  : How  do  you  go  to  school?

B  : Well, I  ride  my  bike  to  the  subway  sation. Then  I  take  the  subway.

Step  4  listening  1c  and  1d

1  1c  First  ask  students  to  read  the  list  of  information  that  Mary  wants  to  know.

Explain  transportation  and  bus  stop. Make  sure  that  students  understand  the  listening  tasks.

Play  the  recording  and  correct  answers.

2  1d . Listen  again .How  does  Bob  get  to  his grandparents’  home? Check  1  or  2.

Step  5  Pairwork  1e

Talk  about  how  Bob  gets  to  his   grandparents’  home .
