    Methd: As yu d in preview skimming, yu wuld read the first paragraph, the headings and first sentences f paragraphs and sectins, but in additin, as yu alternately read and skim, yu alert yurself t the structure and cntent f the material thrugh an awareness f paragraph patterns, thught transitins, and clue wrds.
    This awareness will help yu t understand the cntent, t recall mre infrmatin, and t see relatinships mre clearly and quickly.
    Review skimming
    Yur purpse with review skimming is t re-familiarize yurself with material yu have previusly read thrughly r skimmed.
    Methd: Prepare yurself by trying t remember as many f the ideas and details clearly. It may be that yu already have a gd grasp f the main ideas and will be stpping primarily t nte significant details - names, places, terms, etc. Yu may be trying t establish in yur mind a sequence f events r a prcedure, r yu may be attempting t fill in a skeletn utline t clarify the structure f the whle.
