Step 1.
Take ut ne picture f yur freign friend and shw it t the students. Say: “This is my pen pal. He lives in the U. S. nw. I ften write letters t him. What is he like? D yu want t have pen pals, t?”
The students will be very happy t have pen pals. Then let them chse ne frm the names and dresses f the freigners.
Step 2.
Listen t the wrds f this lessn. Let the students read after it fr several times until they have crrect prnunciatin and intnatin.
Step 3. Listen t the tape and answer the fllwing questins:
1. Hw tall is Wang Mei?
2. What games des Wang Mei like t play?
3. What is Wang Mei trying t d in her e-mail?
4. What Chinese wrds des Wang Mei teach Jessica?
5. What is Wang Mei lking frward t?
Step 4. Read the text silently and check the answers. Then read the text ludly in class. Let sme students read in frnt f the class. Chse wh the best ne is.
Step 5. Divide the class int small grups and let them have a further discussin.

Step 6. Cme t PROJECT “PEN PAL LETTERS”
Write a letter t a freigner whm yu have chsen. After they are dne, let sme students read their letters in frnt f the class. Others listen and find their grammar and selling mistakes.
If sme students’ have pen pals, let them bring t the schl and read their letters t the class.
