The following advice may help you practice patience.Try to figure out why you are in a hurryWe tend to lose our patience when were multitasking or, when were on a tight schedule. If youre stretching yourself too thin, you should reconsider your to-do list before you attempt to change your natural reaction to an overwhelming (压倒性的) situation.    (1)     Remind yourself that things take timePeople who are impatient are people who insist on getting things done now and dont like to waste time.    (2)    Think about your happiest memories. Chances are, they were instances when your patience paid off, like when you worked steadily towards a goal that wasnt immediately satisfying. Almost anything really good in life takes effort, and if youre impatient, youre more likely to give up on relationships, goals, and other things that are important to you.Expect the unexpectedYes, you have plans, but things dont always work out as planned.    (3)    This applies not only to circumstances, but also the behavior of those around you. If you yourself blowing up over your spouse (配偶) accidentally forgetting to take out the trash(垃圾), youre not in touch with the fact that people arent perfect. Even if the occasion is not an isolated incident but is instead caused by their repeated carelessness, losing your patience isnt going to make it any better.Give yourself a break    (4)    Just sit quietly and think. Dont watch television; dont even read. It may be hard at first, and you may even feel pretty impatient after a minute or two, but by taking some time out you can slow your world down, and thats important to develop the attitude necessary to develop patience. Second, stop holding yourself and the world around you to unreachable standards.Remember what is valuable    (5)    Move the world toward peace by being kind, generous in forgiveness of others, being grateful for what is, and taking full advantage of what matters most. When other unimportant things fuel our impatience, taking time to remember any one of these items reduces our tendency to want something different right now. A. Make plans carefully.B. Accept the turns in life gracefully.C. However, some things just cant be rushed.D. First, take a few minutes to do nothing.E. People think that it is not easy to gain patience.F. Not focusing on what matters most in this life fuels impatience.G. Try to spread out your tasks so that youre doing only one thing at a time. 2.There is no way to make somebody stop smoking,and just like with users of any drug,it is very unlikely a person will stop unless he or she wants to.    (1)    Step One: Make ObservationsSmoking use can affect memory and make it difficult for people to do well at work or school.Other bad effects that you may notice include:    (2)    Is she getting sick more often than she used to?Write down your concerns using "I" statements,such as "I feel sad that when you smoke you give up your artwork."    (3)    Step Two: Approach the PersonBring up your concerns to your friend at a relaxing time.Express your concerns using the statements you wrote down.Tell him you will be there to support him if and when she decides to give up smoking.He will likely give you one of three responses:He wants to quit.    (4)    He wants to stop,but not yet.You must be willing to calmly accept any of these responses.If he says he does want to stop,go on with the next step.If not,they will have to be visited later when he is ready.Step Three: Prevent Him Giving Up Halfway    (5)    However,symptoms only appear after some time of quitting smoke.This causes some who are addicted to believe that they are not actually addicted and to start using again. A.He doesn't want to quit.B.Does this person appear more nervous?C.Are you lazy because you smoke too much?D.It's best to approach the person in this manner.E.People can become physically dependent on smoking.F.The drug can't stay in the system for a long period of time.G.But there are steps you can take to support a friend or family member.  3.Fathers Day has been celebrated for over 100 years, Its also an event celebrated in many countries around the world, although at different times of the year. Having all of his kids celebrate fathers day with him will make it even more special.  4.Vegetarians (素食者) around the world have long believed that a vegetarian diet is a healthier choice than a meat-based one. Studies have shown that not only do vegetarians have less heart disease and fewer circulatory problems, but they also tend to have fewer chances of cancer.     (1)    Should you consider becoming a vegetarian you may wonder:     (2)    The term Vegetarian generally describes a person who does not consume meat, fish, or seafood. However, there are several types of vegetarians, and the vegetarian diet can change depending on which category the person falls into.    (3)    Todays importance on meat-centred diets has been proved to contribute to many of our modem illnesses. Choosing to get rid of or limit the meat you eat can bring you many of the health benefits of a vegetarian diet. In addition to the health benefits of a vegetarian diet, you will also reduce your share of the suffering that human beings bring to animals.Many people start vegetarian diets without doing nutritional research and learning what a balanced vegetarian diet makes up. As a result, a large number of new vegetarians complain that they lack energy.     (4)    Others find quite a few other problems that come with a poorly balanced vegetarian diet.Not everyone wants to be a vegetarian. Accepting this is part of being a vegetarian with style.     (5)    Stylish vegetarians should also be able to turn down a meaty dish politely without annoying their hosts. A. What do vegetarians eat?B. The benefits of a vegetarian diet are many.C. Forcing your beliefs on others is disrespectful.D. Meal planning is important whatever diet you choose.E. Here are some tips to keep in mind to stay focused on your work when working at home:Set and keep regular office hours.    (1)    Then try your best to leave work at the office and turn your phone on silent and enjoy the rest of your day. Give yourself some time to recharge so you can be as productive as possible.Plan and structure your work days.Structure your work days to maximize(取最大值) efficiency. Take advantage of your bodys natural rhythms.    (2)    If you know you focus best in the morning, resist the temptation to check email until 10 a.m.  or later.Set aside a designated(指定的) work area.Try to work at the same spot every day.    (3)    And make it a place you enjoy going to each day, an area where you can focus and do your best work.Take breaks.Schedule time for frequent breaks throughout the day.
