Tm Fear was driving hme n Hutchinsn River Parkway last week when he thught he saw a large bag in the radway. As he gt clser; he realized it was nt a bag but a bald eagle. Tw wmen pulled ver after seeing the 52-year-ld with the bird and called the plice, wh cntacted animal cntrl expert Jim Hrtn frm QualityPr Pest & Wildlife Services. This sunds like a made-up stry, but it actually happened t a man named Dinisi Pulid in 1943. He lived with his wife near the village f Paricutin, abut 200 miles frm Mexic City.
Mr. Pulid watched smky dust rise frm the crack in the field. He and his family escaped t Paricutin. Within just 24 hurs, material frm the crack mved upward and created a hill — like bject 164 feet high! Fr the next few days, the Earth sent tns f material t the surface. A sup — like mixture f dust and rck had begun t rain dwn n the village. But the vlcan that frmed in a crnfield was just getting started. Its pwer grew.
A stream f lava (熔岩) began t make its way t Paricutin. Luckily, it tk fur mnths t reach the village. This allwed the peple t escape in time. They went t the larger village nearby, but in a few weeks fund that they had t escape frm there as well. In the next few mnths, all that was left f these villages were tw church twers sticking ut f the tns f lava.
