3. In what different ways d the tw reading passage in this unit reflect the spirit f explratin?
The first passage is mainly abut the Challenger disaster. Althugh it was a tragedy, peple did nt stp explring space. This shws that peple will always seek t explre space, even if sme lse their life in ding s. (Please refer t next page)
The secnd passage is abut the develpment f the telescpe, and hw it reflects the desire t explre the unknwn. Unlike the explratin cnducted by astrnauts f the Challenger such as thse in the Challenger, the explratin in the secnd passage was cnducted by peple lcated n Earth, at n persnal risk. Nevertheless, the knwledge gained frm telescpe is immense. The tw passages shw that there are different ways f explring universe and f gaining knwledge.
I can nt agree with the saying mre.
Take reading fr example. The mre yu read gd bks, the mre shallw yu will feel, and the less when yu realize that yu knw t little, yu will actively d mre reading. On the cntrary, thse wh have read fewer bks ften think that they knw a lt, but they d nt realize that the cean f knwledge is endless. As the saying ges, “My life is limited while knwledge is infinite.”

Sunday 12 April I was lucky enugh t be chsen as a visitr t the space statin! After an exciting blast int rbit, I culdn’t wait t lk thrugh the space statin windws int deep space! Yu can imagine my disappintment when I didn’t see many stars. The astrnauts laughed and explained t me that we were still in the sunlight, s f curse we culdn’t see much, because the light was t bright. (Please refer t next page)
Writing My jurnal entry abut living in space
Shrtly after, we passed int Earth’s windw, and I lked ut f the windw t see the mst amazing number f stars! I felt very excited! This is the mst unfrgettable experience n the statin. Sn after that, it was time fr dinner. The thing I nticed mst was nt the zer gravity measures fr eating, but the fact that the fd didn’t have much taste. And my nse felt blcked. It turns ut these things are related, because in zer gravity, yur face swells up mre. After that, it was time t get strapped int bed. It was a bit hard t sleep in zer gravity--my arms kept flating away, and I wke up t see them right in frnt f my face, instead f lying n the bed like they wuld n Earth. (Please refer t next page)
My jurnal entry abut living in space
Despite even simple things being harder t d, I really enjyed being in zer gravity, and I lved being able t flat arund instead f having t walk. It’s a pity my stay n the statin was s shrt. It wuld have been great t stay lnger and learn mre abut life in space!

[尝试翻译] 它增加了人类眼睛的力量, 并且使我们能够理解宇宙比以前想象的要大得多。
2. The 500-meter dish f the “Eye f Heaven”, as it is knwn, is being used in the search fr dark matter, thught t be cmpsed f subatmic particles invisible t rdinary telescpes. [句式分析] “as it is knwn” as引导的状语从句, 意为“随着它被人们了解”;“thught t be cmpsed f subatmic particles invisible t rdinary telescpes.”为过去分词短语着后置定语,其完整形式为 “which is thught t be cmpsed f subatmic particles invisible t rdinary telescpes. “invisible t rdinary telescpe” 为形容词短语作定语修饰名词 subatmic particles.
