    The Wuhan Institute f Shipbuilding Technlgy was used as a quarantine site (离) frm 8 February t 28 March. Cheng Shining, a junir f Central China Nrmal University in Wuhan, was respnsible fr cllecting and distributing supplies fr quarantined peple and medical staff. As the yungest vlunteer at this site, he als chse t live there s that he culd shw up whenever he was needed.
    One day Cheng and tw ther vlunteers spent mre than 3 hurs mving all 1,462 bxes f mineral water t strage with 50 firemen’s help. Cheng says, “A single persn’s strength is limited, but we knw the whle cuntry is helping us.”
    Cheng was a vlunteer fr the Military Wrld Games held in Wuhan in Octber 2019. It was the first time he had seen his hmetwn under the wrld’s sptlight. “I’ve experienced the highlight f Wuhan, and nw when my hmetwn tuched a lw pint, I pray that I can get thrugh the difficulty tgether with the city,” Cheng says.
    Like Cheng,28-year-ld Wuhan lcal Zhu Abing als vlunteered t help his hme city. He signed up right away t be a vlunteer fr the vaccine. A ttal f 108 Wuhan lcals became the first grup f COVID-19 vaccine vlunteers in March 2020.They were healthy adults aged frm 18 t 60 selected frm thusands f peple wh applied.
    “Since the lckdwn, I’ve always been thinking what I can d fr my hmetwn during the epidemic,” he says. Zhu is a freshman f Hubei University f Technlgy in Wuhan. He jined the army when he was 18 years ld and served fr five years. Hwever, Zhu didn’t want t miss the chance t study further, s he decided t g t cllege.
    “N matter hw lng I have finished my military service, I always have the respnsibility t g t the frnt line when the cuntry needs me, and when facing this pandemic (流行病), being a vaccine vlunteer is what I shuld d,” he says.
