    As part f getting my feet wet, my principal suggested I “be” a student fr a day: I was t cmplete all the wrk f a 10th-grade student. My task was t d everything the student was suppsed t d: If there were ntes n the bard, I cpied them as fast as I culd int my ntebk; if there was a chemistry experiment, I did it with my hst student; if there was a test, I tk it.
    I culd nt believe hw dg-tired I was after the day, because I literally sat dwn the whle day, except fr walking t and frm classes. We frget as teachers, because we are n ur feet a lt --- in frnt f the bard, walking as we speak, circling arund the rm t check n student wrk... we mve a lt.
    But students almst never mve, because in every class, the expectatin was fr us t cme in, take ur seats, and sit dwn fr the whle class. Therefre, by the end f the day I was eager t mve. I had planned t g back t my ffice and write dwn sme ntes n the day, but I was s exhausted that I culdn’t d anything but watch TV and I was in bed by 8:30.
    If I culd d back and change my classes nw, I wuld immediately change the fllwing three things:
    ① mandatry stretch(强制伸展)halfway thrugh the class;
    ② put a basketball hp(篮筐)n the back f my dr and encurage kids t play in the first and final minutes f class;
    ③ build a hands-n, mve-arund activity int every single class day.

    Jack White is a 17-year-ld student wh has already published a cllectin f petry with a lcal publisher. Jack believes switching (转) t an all-bys schl frm his ced (男女同校) high schl changed his life.
    “When I was at my ced schl, petry was fr girls, nt bys. Guys were suppsed t like subjects like math, cmputers, and science. Take, fr example, brain develpment. The areas f the brain related t language, feelings, physical crdinatin (协调), and scial relatinships, develp in a different rder and speed in girls and bys. Research has shwn that girls’ brains develp the cnnectins between language and emtins earlier than bys’ brains. In a single-sex classrm, everyne’s brain is develping at similar speeds, s teachers can teach accrding t their students’ actual abilities.

    C. Girls have natural differences frm bys.
    D. Bys and girls are gd at different subjects.
    10.What will prbably happen in a single-sex classrm?
