Henrietta Swan Leavitt was brn n July 4, 1868, in Massachusetts. Little is knwn abut her private life. As a cllege student, she studied a number f subjects and fell in lve with astrnmy(天文学).
Leavitt never married and was cnsidered a serius wman with little time t waste n unimprtant aspects f life. Christina Klein, a nephrlgist and medical directr f Piedmnt Atlanta Hspital’s kidney transplant prgram, says it is extremely rare fr tw peple t prpse their wn paired rgan exchange and actually be a match fr each ther. “I’ve persnally never seen this happen,” Dr. Klein says. “When we put pairs int large databases fr natinal paired exchange prgrams, sme pairs wait mnths r even years fr a cmpatible match.”
The cuples first met a few days befre the surgeries when they came t the hspital fr a final rund f testing. Befre that, they had chatted n FaceTime a bit. The surgeries lasted abut three t fur hurs each and were a success, with n cmplicatins.
