17-year-ld Kenan Pala has a wealth f experience in dealing with hmelessness and helping thse in need.
The Ranch Bernard student became ne f the 17 yung adults appinted ( 任命) t the newly revamped ( 改进的) San Dieg Yuth Cmmissin by Mayr Tdd Glria in 2021. “Being n the Cmmissin is very imprtant and it’s an exciting new stage fr my wrk in the cmmunity,” Pala said.
Pala started Kids4Cmmunity in 2017. The grup wrks with lcal charities and vlunteer rganizatins t encurage children 5 and up t d charity wrk.
Since the beginning, a majr fcus f Kids4Cmmunity has been t help the hmeless. The grup meets regularly t prvide meal services and care packages (包裹) t the hmeless and thse in need.
Pala said his interest in helping thers cmes frm the example set by his parents. “My parents mved here frm Turkey in 1998. Life was really hard at first, but my parents said they gt a lt f help frm the San Dieg cmmunity. They tried very hard t give back whenever and wherever help was needed,” he said.
