The March Fair is the mst imprtant festival fr the Bai peple living in Dali, Yunnan. It starts frm the 15th day f the 3rd lunar mnth and lasts abut 7 days. During the festival, peple in and arund Dali cme tgether fr trade. What’s mre, they race hrses, dance t and sing traditinal sngs.
Trch Festival f Yi Peple
In Yunnan, Guizhu and Sichuan, Yi peple celebrate the Trch (火把) Festival. It usually takes place frm the 24th t the 26th day f the 6th lunar mnth every year. As part f the festival, every family needs t light a trch. The idea is that these trches will drive away bad luck. In the center f twn, there is always a bnfire (篝火). Peple f all ages sing and dance arund it.
Water Festival f Dai Peple
The Water Festival is the New Year fr the Dai peple living in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. It lasts 3 days in April. During the festival, Dai peple wear their festival suits t dance and thrw water at each ther (they believe it culd bring happiness and gd luck). The wetter yu get, the luckier yu will be.
