They therefre fllwed 14 patients wh tk 100 milligrams f aspirin daily until the day f the surgery and 18 wh stpped taking aspirin at least 7 days befre the surgery.
Thse wh cntinued with their aspirin had significantly lwer thrmbxane in fluid arund the heart, better xygen levels in their bld and spent less time n a ventilatr(呼吸器) than the grup wh discntinued taking aspirin.
On the ther hand, the need fr bld transfusins was n different between the grups, indicating that bleeding cmplicatins were n wrse with aspirin.
The researchers had excluded patients wh had suffered a heart attack and thse with heart failure because patients like these have a higher level f thrmbaxane. “They will prbably benefit even mre than its inhibitin.”
