S, we did an nline experiment with pairs f peple discussing a challenging tpic. In the first grup, ne participant(参与者) in each pair had an AI helper. The AI tried t make sure the discussin was plite and respectful. It didn't change the participant's pint f view, thugh! The participant culd accept r refuse the suggestins r cmpletely edit the message an AI helper ffers. In the cntrl grup, the peple had a cnversatin n the same tpic but neither f the participants had an AI helper. After the discussins ended, the pairs shared their thughts n hw gd the cnversatin was.
In ur study, the participants accepted the AI's suggestins tw thirds f the time. When they used the AI's suggestins, the messages became mre psitive and plite. Participants whse partners used the AI reprted feeling better abut the cnversatin. They were mre willing t understand and respect each ther, even if they still disagreed.
