Recently, a research team frm Nanjing Agricultural University has invented Xunzi, a large language mdel (LLM) and XunziChat alng with Gulian, a leading ancient Chinese text publisher.
When asked why he and his partners made the large language mdel, Wang Dngb, the leader f the research team, explained that “traditinal Chinese characters, the tp-t-dwn design, the absence f punctuatin (标点) are all difficulties that readers have t get ver when they read traditinal texts”.
T create Xunzi the LLM, Wang and his partners first needed t d a lt f research. Since 2013, his team has wrked hard t digitize Chinese classics like the Siku Quanshu. “The hard wrk includes a large crpus (语料库) f tw billin Chinese characters, which is necessary fr the large language mdel,” said Wang.

I’m frty. I left schl 22 years ag. I dn’t regret many things abut my schl days but there are a few things I wish I’d knwn earlier as a girl. S here is my list f three things I’d learned at schl.
❏ As a yung child yu try many new things. If yu fail, yu try again until yu learn. Then yu start schl where yu are usually nly praised fr ding things crrectly. S what happens? Yu stp trying new things in case yu get it wrng. I always remind myself: I wn’t give up halfway until I make it.
❏ I always wanted t be the best and ne way f feeling gd abut myself was t see hw much better I was than thers. There was nly ne prblem with this. When I saw they were better than me, I felt terrible. Nw I cmpare me with myself. I asked myself if I did things as well as I culd.
❏ Hw much time d yu spend wrrying abut the future? I used t wrry a lt. Nw I knw mst things yu fear usually never happen. If they happen, then they will mst ften nt be as bad as yu expected. In 6 mnths yu prbably wn’t remember mst f the things yu wrry abut nw.
