Sme Ugandan students study traditinal Chinese craft, which helps build bridges thrugh art. With its balanced, runded pt and cups, the tea set seems like Chinese ceramic (陶瓷) at first glance. “I like it here nt nly because f its safety, but the raw materials and the prductin techniques fr ceramics here are als amng the best in the wrld.” He says. During his stay in China, Rbert was given many chances t participate in ceramic prductin, exhibitins and even access t experts-all helping t grw the space where he culd express his creativity.
Rbert spends mst f his free time in lcal museums’ culture and histry sectins s as t deepen his understanding and passin fr traditinal Chinese culture. He als gets t knw Chinese prfessinals inside and utside the ceramic wrld. “I wuld lve t slidify my career as an artist here while helping t link Uganda and China,” Rbert says.
“Ugandans are thankful, curius, and passinate abut Chinese culture. I wuld lve t intrduce the artists back hme t study and create ceramic artwrks in China and prmte them t the wrld.”
Rbert says, “T be a mdern artist in Chinese ceramics, ne needs t cmprehend the full f lw f prductin, which requires years f practice and learning.” One f the mst challenging areas f creating his pieces invlves creating the “ideal shape and thickness”. Sleep-deprived human parents knw the value f a quick nap, but it turns ut chinstrap penguins (带帽企鹅) have us all beat. When nesting, these Antarctic birds take fur-secnd-lng “micr-sleeps”, a strategy that allws parents t keep cnstant watch ver weak eggs and chicks, all while having 11 hurs f ttal sleep a day, accrding t a new study.
Chinstrap parents, like ther penguins, take turns guarding the nest. While ne bird prtects the chicks, the partner finds fd at sea. Then the penguins trade places. Fr tw mnths between egg laying and fledging (羽化), it’s a series f nnstp demands.
In rder t study hw penguins manage t accmplish all this and get the necessary sleep, Lee, a leader researcher, first stuck bilggers, small battery-pwered devices, t the backs f 14 nesting penguins f bth sexes. This device functins like a smart-watch, measuring physical activity, pulse, and the cean depths f fraging (觅食) birds.
Next, the team humanely arrested each f the penguins, attaching the devices temprarily int their skull t measure brain activity. When an animal is awake, the brain cnstantly buzzes with activity. During sleep, hwever, brain waves slw dwn and stretch ut. When Lee started reviewing the data, he was surprised t discver the birds, slept in fur-secnd intervals thrughut the day and night while lking after their eggs r chicks.
“In bth humans and penguins, micr-sleeps ccur during times f exhaustin, yet nesting chinstrap penguins seem t have a near-exclusive reliance n it,” Cirelli, anther scientist, says. Studying sleep in natural envirnments is difficult, s “the simple fact that they were able t recrd data in these cnditins is incredible.”
While the data is cnvincing, Cirelli ntes that the researchers nly studied the penguins during nesting perids, making it impssible t tell if the birds micr-sleep when they’re nt parenting. The ther challenge is understanding hw micr-sleep impacts the brains and bdies f the penguins. Sleep deprivatin (匮乏) in humans causes a range f health prblems, and it’s nt clear whether penguins experience this, t.

( )31.What wuld the fllwing paragraph prbably talk abut?

Three yung men were n a crwded train when they encuntered a heavily armed terrrist. With little regard fr their persnal safety, they rushed the terrrist and cntrlled him. Only sme peple seem capable f this split-secnd frm f herism. Why sme men rise t the ccasin—and thers dn’t—has been a bit tricky t explain. Psychlgists have explred this questin thrugh bilgical and persnality psychlgy.
Of curse, herism and curage can appear in many frms, and men and wmen risk their reputatins, health, and scial standing t d what they think is right. When it cmes t physically risky bravery, peple assume that men will take the lead. There are sund bilgical reasns fr this fixed image. One f the mst cmmn fears in men is that they’ll be uted as a cward (懦夫), and a man wh fails t display physical curage will suffer damage t his reputatin in a way that a wman will nt. Thrughut human histry, attaining a psitin f high status r dminance amng ne’s peers (同龄人) has been the ticket that needs t get punched fr men t attract mates and father children.
Peple tend t have an idea f what heres are like. When rating the persnalities f mvie heres, participants expected them t be mre careful and hard-wrking, pen t experience, agreeable, and emtinally stable than the average persn. But sme studies indicate that peple wh exhibit heric behavir scre high n persnality usually assciated with madmen: risk-taking, sensatin seeking, clness under stress, and a tendency t take ver in scial situatins.
The study f the relatinship between persnality and herism is at an early stage. Psychlgists are still at a lss t predict in advance wh will herically step up when needed. Often, the her is an therwise rdinary persn wh finds himself in extrardinary circumstances. Meanwhile, sme individuals trained t behave herically might hesitate during a crisis. Future disasters will cry ut fr further acts f true herism. Hpefully, the right mix f circumstances and persnalities enable curage t carry the day.

A.There are numerus factrs affecting herism.
B.Heres and rdinary peple are always difficult t tell apart.
C.Unknwn circumstances play a crucial rle in heric acts.
D.Individual persnality is nt a reliable indicatr f herism.
( )35.Which f the fllwing is the best title fr the text?
A.Hw Are Heres Trained? B.Why Are Heres Imprtant?
C.What Makes a Persn Heric? D.Wh Are the True Heres?
