It was just anther bring day fr Jamie, a third-grader. He sat in his English class, mindlessly ddling n his ntebk.
“Jamie Turner, please reprt t the principal’s ffice immediately.”
Jamie’s heart sank. With his mind racing, Jamie grabbed his backpack and made the lng walk dwn the hallway t the principal’s ffice, aviding eye cntact with fellw students. As he walked, he searched his brain fr any pssible explanatins fr why he was being called.
Jamie finally reached the principal’s ffice. He tk a deep breath and pushed it pen, bracing himself fr the wrst.
T his surprise, he fund the principal, Mr. Harrisn wh was wearing a giant yellw chicken hat n his head, standing n his desk and waving his arms as if he were trying t fly!
Jamie’s muth fell pen at the sight, t stunned t speak.
“Jamie, sit dwn,” Mr. Harrisn exclaimed, gesturing him t take a seat. “I’ve called yu here because we’ve been having sme cmplaints abut yur behavir. Yu’ve been… t funny.”
Jamie’s jaw drpped further. Was that really the reasn he was called t the principal’s ffice?
The principal cntinued, his tne serius, “Nw, we take ur educatin very seriusly here, and while we appreciate a gd sense f humr, we have t draw the line smewhere. We cannt have students disturbing the learning envirnment with their… their humr.”
Jamie culdn’t help it—he burst ut laughing, dubling ver in his seat as he gasped fr breath.
Finally, Jamie managed t cmpse himself enugh t speak. “I’m srry, sir, it’s just… I can’t stp laughing at the thught f getting in truble fr laughing… and yur hat! It’s ridiculus!”
The principal frwned, “Well, I’m glad yu find it funny. But yur teachers dn’t.”
Jamie ndded seriusly, trying t cntain his laughter. “I understand, sir. I’ll be less funny in class.” “Um, Mr. Harrisn, why are yu wearing a chicken hat?” Jamie asked, unable t cntain his curisity.
Para1:“Oh, tday is Animal Day fr the first-graders.” Mr. Harrisjn grinned.
Para2: “Really, Mr. Harrisn? Yu think I’m that gd fr the upcming schl Cmedy Festival?” Jamie asked.

Are yu familiar with fwl play, Jamie?” “Uh, nt really,” Jamie said, feeling mre cnfused by the secnd “Well, it’s a kind f jke that invlves wrdplay and humr. Like, why did the chicken crss the playgrund? T get t the ther slide!” Mr. Harrisn said, grinning widely, “well, Jamie. Yu have a natural talent fr cmedy that is rare in smene yur age. Yu have turned a lecture int a cmedy shw, and a science experiment int a stand-up rutine. Yu are a brn entertainer!”
“Really, Mr. Harrisn? Yu think I’m that gd fr the upcming schl Cmedy Festival?” Jamie asked. “I d. Jamie. I d,” Mr. Harrisn said, leaning clser t him. “That’s why I’ve decided t enter yu in ur schl’s first ever Cmedy Festival! It will be a shwcase f the funniest students in the district, and yu will represent ur schl with pride!” Jamie felt like he had wn the lttery. He culd nt believe his luck! “Thank yu, Mr. Harrisn! Thank yu!” Jamie said, jumping up frm his chair. “I wn’t let yu dwn! I prmise I’ll be the best cmedian yu’ve ever seen!” And s, Jamie fund himself stepping nt the stage the fllwing week, shaking with nerves. But as sn as he started telling his jkes, it was like a switch flipped within him. And when the crwd erupted in laughter, he knew that he had fund his calling.

After a lng time, we reached ur small htel in Essauira at arund dinner time, and n ur way t a lcal restaurant, my husband started t feel unwell. He went back t the htel. while I had dinner alne. When I gt back t ur htel, I fund my husband sitting n the bathrm flr. His face almst had n clr. He had been sick abut six times in an hur. And he spent a lt f time in the bathrm. We guessed that lcal special il and hney prbably didn’t agree with him, which caused him t feel s uncmfrtable. At abut 1 am, my husband finally managed t leave the bathrm and climb int bed. He was very weak and dehydrated (脱水的), s I went dwn t the htel’s receptin (接待处) t buy a bttle f water.
