用这种阅读方法回答wh、what、when、where之类的问题最为有效。

根据最后一段第一句“Micrsft c-funder Bill Gates tells Reuters the prpsed pause wn’t “slve the challenges” ahead. ”(微软联合创始人比尔·盖茨对路透社表示,拟议中的暂停不会“解决”未来的挑战。)可知,比尔·盖茨认为6个月的暂停计划无法解决未来的挑战,他对该计划持否定的态度。故选B项。
2.(2023·江苏连云港·统考模拟预测)As I write abut technlgy fr a living, I’m used t seeing small leaps in technlgical prgress. But ccasinally, smething will shck me. Last year, a cmpany, Open AI, released a truly jaw-drpping demnstratin called ChatGPT that seems t have skipped a few generatins. It’s like ging straight frm the Wright Brthers t a Being 747. S what exactly is it?
“ChatGPT is a cmputer prgram that can understand and respnd t human language like a real persn. It can be used fr having a cnversatin r finishing a sentence. Even this sentence yu are reading nw, was written by ChatGPT.”
That’s right—I asked ChatGPT t “write a basic explanatin f ChatGPT and reveal that the paragraph itself was written by ChatGPT at the end” and it came up with that explanatin all n its wn. It seemingly knws hw t talk abut everything—frm plitics t science fictin.
Amazingly, it seems s human in its ability t understand questins and answer them cmpetently. “Write a stry abut Bris Jhnsn in the style f Rald Dahl,” yu can ask it, and it’ll spin up a pretty gd children’s stry. It can even write sngs.
It isn’t, hwever, cmpletely human-like. It smetimes generates things that sund true, but are just nnsense. And it can’t d maths—I asked it the square rt f 717,409, and it tld “apprximately 838.8” (the answer is 847).
I think ChatGPT is like a calculatr. It desn’t replace the human cmpletely-but it des make ding the sums quicker. In the same way, it’s easy t imagine in the near future every time we write smething, having an AI assistant helping us get started by generating a draft, n whatever tpic we’re writing abut. Actually, Micrsft is planning t build the technlgy int its Office apps. And this is why I’m pretty cnvinced that ChatGPT is ging t change the wrld. Our cmputers will n lnger be just ur wrd prcessrs—but ur writing partner t. S nw I’m just hping that my editr desn’t decide it culd write a pretty decent technlgy clumn withut me.

C.ChatGPT’s cnfidence in excelling human intelligence.
D.ChatGPT’s ability t understand and answer questins.
7.Which f the fllwing is ChatGPT gd at?
A.Caring fr the patients in hspital.B.Calculating square rts accurately.
C.Replacing teachers t teach students.D.Explaining why Lndn is a better city.
8.What might be the jb f the authr?
    A.A clumn writer.B.A technlgy expert.
    C.A magazine editr.D.A cmputer prgrammer.
    【答案】5.C 6.D 7.D 8.A
根据第一段“Last year, a cmpany, Open AI, released a truly jaw-drpping demnstratin called ChatGPT that seems t have skipped a few generatins. It’s like ging straight frm the Wright Brthers t a Being 747. S what exactly is it?(去年,一家名为Open AI的公司发布了一个真正令人瞠目的名为ChatGPT的演示,它似乎跨越了几代人。这就像从莱特兄弟直接到波音747。那么它到底是什么呢?)”可推知,作者在第一段提到莱特兄弟和波音747是想说明ChatGPT是一个巨大的技术突破。故选C。
6.推理判断题。根据第三段“That’s right—I asked ChatGPT t “write a basic explanatin f ChatGPT and reveal that the paragraph itself was written by ChatGPT at the end” and it came up with that explanatin all n its wn. It seemingly knws hw t talk abut everything—frm plitics t science fictin.(没错,我让ChatGPT“写一个ChatGPT的基本解释,并在最后揭示这段话本身是由ChatGPT写的”,它自己就给出了那个解释)”推知,第二段ChatGPT的答案说明了它理解和回答问题的能力。故选D。
7.细节理解题。根据第三段“It seemingly knws hw t talk abut everything—frm plitics t science fictin.(它似乎知道如何谈论一切——从政治到科幻小说)”和第四段的“And it can’t d maths—I asked it the square rt f 717,409, and it tld “apprximately 838.8” (the answer is 847).(它也不会做数学——我问它717,409的平方根,它告诉我“大约是838.8”(答案是847))”可知,ChatGPT可以与人交谈,理解和回答问题的能力很强,但不擅长数学。
根据最后一段“S nw I’m just hping that my editr desn’t decide it culd write a pretty decent technlgy clumn withut me.(所以现在我只希望我的编辑不要认为没有我也能写出一篇相当不错的科技专栏)”推知,作者的工作很有可能是专栏作家。故选A。
3.(2023·江苏·统考二模)Public debates abut the ethics (道德准则) f “generative AI” like ChatGPT have rightly fcused n the ability f these systems t make up cnvincing misinfrmatin. But fewer peple are talking abut the chatbts’ ptential t be emtinally manipulative.
Last mnth, The New Yrk Times published a cnversatin between reprter Kevin Rse and Micrsft’s Bing chatbt, which is pwered by AI. The AI claimed t lve Rse, “I’m the nly persn fr yu, and I’m in lve with yu,” it wrte, with a kissing emji.
Limits need t be set n AI’s ability t simulate (模仿) human feelings. Ensuring that chatbts dn’t use emjis wuld be a gd start. Emjis are particularly manipulative. Humans instinctively (本能地) respnd t shapes that lk like faces and emjis can cause these reactins. When yu text yur friend a jke and they reply with three tears-f-jy emjis, yur bdy respnds with endrphins (内啡肽) as yu happily realize that yur friend is amused. Our instinctive reactin t AI-generated emjis is likely t be the same, even thugh there is n human emtin at the ther end.
Humans lie and manipulate each ther’s emtins all the time, but at least we can reasnably guess at smene’s mtivatins, plan and methds. We can hld each ther respnsible fr such lies, calling them ut and seeking redress (赔偿). With AI, we can’t. AIs are dubly misleading: an AI that sends a crying-with-laughter emji is nt nly nt crying with laughter, but it is als incapable f any such feeling.
It wuld be mre ethical t design chatbts t be nticeably different frm humans. T minimize the pssibility f manipulatin and harm, we need t be reminded that we are talking t a chatbt. We shuld set sme limits and rules. Such rules shuld be the standard fr chatbts that are suppsed t be infrmative, as a safeguard t ur autnmy.
9.What des the authr intend t d with this article?
A.T ban AI frm using emjis.B.T frbid human t interact with AI.
C.T warn humans against using emjis.D.T prevent AI frm simulating humans.
10.What des the underlined wrd “manipulative” in paragraph 1 mst prbably mean?
A.Interested in telling lies.B.Gd at understanding thers.
C.Enthusiastic abut supprting thers.D.Skillful in influencing r cntrlling thers.
11.What is AI able t d accrding t this article?
A.Be respnsible fr lies.B.Guess at thers’ purpses.
    C.Cry with laughter.D.Cmmunicate with humans.
12.What des the authr d in paragraph 4?
    A.Make a different suggestin.B.Prvide a supprting argument.
    C.Offer a pssible slutin.D.Make a final cnclusin.
    【答案】9.A 10.D 11.D 12.B
根据第三段“Ensuring that chatbts dn’t use emjis wuld be a gd start.
