根据画线词前“When I was abut 17, my high schlteacher event ld me in frnt f the entire class that I wuld never make a living as a skatebarder.(当我17岁的时候,我的高中老师在全班同学面前告诉我,我永远不能用滑板谋生)”可推断,在老师眼里,作者不务正业,是没有前途的,所以bleak应是与Unprmising意为“不乐观的”同义。故先D项。

Instead, it was ‘Hw were the ckies?(当我还是个孩子的时候,人们谈论的不是‘婚礼怎么样?’ 及第四段“this traditin f sharing sweet hmemade ckies at weddings is baked int Pittsburgh culture(这种在婚礼上分享自制甜饼干的传统已经融入了匹兹堡的文化)”可知这是匹兹堡婚礼的重要组成部分。故选D。

    32.答案:①wrried②t develp③f④peple’s⑤was shcked⑥abslutely⑦hw⑧hwever/thugh⑨being⑩a
根据“he didn’t speak up”可知句子时态是一般过去时,wrry用过去式,故填wrried。
make up ne’s mind t d sth意为“决心做某事”,为固定搭配,故填t develp。
故填was shcked。
