Eric Ashby's fascinatin with nature began at an early age. His first article, Bird Phtgraphy: an Ideal Hbby fr Bys, was published when he was just 16 and illustrated with phtgraphs that he'd taken.
His interest in phtgraphy had been sparked fur years earlier in 1930, when the wildlife phtgrapher Cherry Keartn came t Suthsea, Ashby's hme twn, t present a shw f his wrk.
