A MENTORING (导师制) prgram is giving life changing pprtunities t Banbury yuth.
Yung Inspiratins was funded tw years ag t prvide mentring sessins fr students and unemplyed yung adults aged 11 t 21.
Alex Gldberg, the prgram’s funder, said; “We set up Yung Inspiratins because we wanted t give yung peple experiences which will ptentially be life changing and braden their utlk.”
“We try t create wrk experience pprtunities that will really make a difference t ur yuth. Fr example, we’ve secured internships (实习) with wrld-famus firms such as Hnda.”
“At a time f funding cutbacks where schls are finding it mre and mre difficult t ffer this kind f mentring, it is extremely imprtant that these pprtunities are available bth t help yuth with their schl wrk and grades and t give them pprtunities which may help shape their futures.” Kieran Hepburn, 14, is ne f a grup f Banbury yuth wh has benefited frm the prgram s far. In Octber the Banbury Schl pupil was accmpanied by Yung Inspiratins staff t Paris where he was an bserver at the United Natins Educatinal, Scientific and Cultural Organizatin’s (UNESCO) Internatinal Yuth Frum (论坛).
The event was held fr yung peple frm arund the wrld, t seek their views n hw the future f yuth and educatin shuld lk. Kieran jined several hundred bservers mstly in their 20s and was the nly UK schl pupil t attend the event. Kieran thinks the trip was a life changing experience. “Befre we left I didn’t quite knw what t make f it but when we gt there we didn’t stp, it was amazing,” he said, “We went t three r fur hurs f debates each day and then did smething cultural each afternn.”

A wrk f art created by artificial intelligence (AI) has been sld by a majr art seller fr the first time. The print sld fr an unexpectedly large amunt f $432, 500. The artwrk was bught during an auctin (拍卖) Thursday at Christie’s, an art huse, in New Yrk City. Officials had predicted it wuld sell fr between $7, 000 and $10, 000.
In a website pst, Christie’s said the AI-created wrk was the first ever sld by a majr auctin huse. It praised the sale as a signal f “the arrival f AI art n the wrld auctin stage.”
The artwrk, called “Prtrait (肖像) f Edmnd Belamy,” was made by a machine learning algrithm (算法). The AI system was created by members f an art grup called Obvius in Paris, France. It shws the prtrait f a man, lking similar t subjects shwn in histrical paintings. Christie’s described sme differences f the AI-created wrk cmpared t ther art it sells. Fr example, it said sme parts f the face were nt as clearly drawn as thse painted by artists. Als sme parts f the print were left empty. Hwever, Christie’s sale rganizer Richard Llyd said the piece was very similar t many thers sld ver many years.
Three creatrs frm the art grup Obvius cperated n the prcess that made the print. First they put a cllectin f 15,000 prtraits int a machine learning system. The prtraits were painted by artists frm the time perid between the 14th and 20th centuries. Then a tl called the “Generatr” made a new image based n the infrmatin entered int the system.
