A dad says he's built a special bnd with his tw­year­ld daughter after running a series f lng distance races with her strapped (用带子系好) t his back.
Chris Greenbank, 36, a stnemasn (石匠) frm Stckprt, Greater Manchester, even managed t cmplete a half marathn carrying the yungster in a special hiking carrier.
The single father, wh has suffered frm anxiety in the past, has been raising mney fr mental health supprt grup Prject 23. The grup, which helps peple with anxiety and mental health prblems, was set up by Chris's friend Mark Sprstn.
Chris's latest race, Run Nrth West's festive 10k in Cheshire, was his furth race and he says, pssibly their last, as the kid may be t heavy in spring. Besides, Chris had been a little wrried if the weather wuld be t chilly fr his daughter. “N matter hw difficult it is, I want t get us bth a festive New Year medal befre it gets t cld，” He added. “We have fur medals nw and we have run 51km in ttal. ”
In Octber Chris tk just under three hurs t cmplete the Manchester Half with his daughter n his back. The dad says his little girl rested her hands n his shulder and kept them there fr the whle duratin f the run. He said, “Our bnd isn't smething yu can even put int wrds. My heart is full.”
Chris, wh says exercise is an imprtant part f psitive mental health, believes there shuld be n reasn why peple can't exercise because they have kids.
The pair als ran the Wilmslw Festive 10k in July this year and Chester Z 10k in Octber. Chris speaks f his daughter, “She lves it, and they are like mini adventures.”
