    pick up 接电话
    pick up 接电话。它相当于answer the phne/ telephne。它是由“动词+副词”构成的短语,可接名词或代词作宾语,代词作其宾语时,要用其宾格形式且必须放在pick与up中间。

    either adv. 也
    either在此作副词,用于否定句中。
    Jenny wn't g and Bill wn't either.
    【拓展延伸】(1) either还可作代词,意为“(两者中的)任何一个”。

    (2) either还可作限定词,意为“(二者之中)任一的”,修饰可数名词单数。

    过去进行时基本结构为“was/were+动词-ing”。
    eg:I was watching TV the whle night. We were having classes all day yesterday.
    表示过去某一段时间内一直进行的动作,常与the whle day, all day yesterday等时间状语连用。有时没有明显的时间状语,可根据上下文语境判断。
    eg:Miss Li was shpping at this time yesterday. I was lking fr my lst cat at nine last Mnday mrning.
    表示过去某一时刻正在进行或发生的动作,与表示过去某一时间点的时间状语连用,如at 3 'clck yesterday afternn, at this time yesterday等。
    过去进行时的基本用法
    The girl was shpping when I saw her.
    主语 + was/were + v-ing+其他.
    主语 + was/were + nt + v-ing+其他.
    He was nt wrking at that time.
    —Were yu playing basketball then? —Yes, I was. / N, I wasn't.
    Was/Were + 主语 + v-ing + 其他?
    特殊疑问词 + was/were + 主语 + v-ing + 其他?
    —What were yu ding at nine last Sunday mrning? —I was reading.
    肯定回答:Yes, 主语+was/were.
    否定回答:N, 主语+wasn't/weren't.
    I was watching TV the whle night.We were having classes all day yesterday.
    ◆ 表示过去某一段时间内一直进行的动作,常与the whle day, all day yesterday等时间状语连用。有时没有明显的时间状语,可根据上下文语境判断。
    ◆ 表示过去某一时刻正在进行或发生的动作,与表示过去某一时间点的时间状语连用,如at 3 'clck yesterday afternn, at this time yesterday等。

    when和while都可意为“当……时”,用来引导时间状语从句,表示主句动作发生的背景。
    when和while引导的时间状语从句

    ◆ 表示主句动作发生的特定时间,既可指时间点,也可指时间段。
    ◆ 从句的谓语动词可以是延续性动词,也可以是非延续性动词;从句的动作和主句的动作既可同时发生,也可以是先后发生。
    It was snwing when he arrived at the statin.
    如:wrk, study, drink, eat等。
    ◆ 延续性动词指动作可以延续一段时间,而不是瞬间结束。
    ◆ 非延续性动词指动作极为短暂,瞬间结束。
    如: start, begin, hit, jump, knck等。
    延续性动词和非延续性动词

    ◆ 从句位于主句之前或之后,当位于主句之前时,与主句要用逗号分开。
    ◆ 当主句为将来时或表示将来意义时,从句要用一般现在时表示将来。

    while引导的时间状语从句

    ◆ while引导的时间状语从句强调主句动作在从句动作进行的过程中发生,从句的谓语动词必须为延续性动词,常用进行时。

    1. 看4a中的表格,判断Jhn 和Mary的动作是延续性的 还是非延续性的。
    2. 讨论:_____ 和 _____ 都表示“当时候”。 ______ 用于过去进行时, 只与延续性动作连用; _____ 用于一般过去时, 与非延续性动作连用。

    kid v. 开玩笑;欺骗。其现在分词为kidding,过去式和过去分词均为kidded。
    【拓展延伸】kid还可以作名词,意为“小孩”,复数形式为kids。正式用语或书面用语中用child表示。
