【教学目标】
Strengthen and practice the usage of "there be" sentence pattern. Students can master the countable and uncountable nouns.
【教学重难点】
对 "There isn't/aren't any…" 的掌握.理解并灵活使用 "There be" 句型的一般疑问句、否定句及其肯定与否定回答.
【教学过程】
Activity1: Warm up
Say words about food and vegetables, teacher will write these words on the board.
Activity2: Reviewing countable and uncountable words.
Countable: lemons, potatoes, beans, carrots, pineapples, oranges, coconuts, tomatoes, chips, pears…
Uncountable: chicken, water, cheese, rice, fish, bread, milk, soup, fridge…
Part 1
1.Show some pictures, say words to distinguish countable and uncountable, then read it.
2.Describe the pictures with "there is/are…". Meanwhile, teacher says there aren't any apples, then let students say others "there isn't…".
3.Listen to the tape then repeat the sentences.
4.Practice the dialogue in pairs, then translate the sentences.
Part 2
1.Look at the pictures and describe it with "there is/there isn't…".
2.Listen, sing and chant together.
Part 3
Eg: There are some books in my bag, but there aren't any CDs in my bag. Let Ss say what's in my bag. Make them make sentences.
Part 4
1.Listen to the dialogue then find students to repeat the sentences and check the meaning.
2.Have a match: make dialogue.
Part 5
T: How to say about a general question and negative of "there be"?
S: When it is a general question, "be" should be put in the first word of a sentence.
When it is negative, it should add "not" behind "be".
T: Excellent, then please think about what the positive answer and negative answer are?
S: A positive answer is "Yes, there is." or "Yes, there are." A negative answer is "No, there isn't." or "No, there aren't."
Activity3: Summary
1.Teacher says some sentences, students say yes or no.
2.Give some pictures or words, then let students say sentences with "there is some…/there isn't any…".
