教材分析 | 本课教学内容选自高等教育出版社出版的“十四五”职业教育国家规划教材,《英语3 基础模块》中第七单元的热身(Warming Up)和听说(Listening and Speaking)板块,本单元主题是“人与自然”主题范围下关于“自然灾害”的主题。听说部分要求学生能识别表示灾害的词汇,询问并回应因自然灾害导致航班延误的事件,并能就有关自然灾害的信息进行交流。 | ||||

What kinds of natural disasters do you know? Drought,floods,earthquake,typhoon
| 1.Brainstorm some natural disasters and try explaining one of them in English.

Step 2: Warming up

1) Present the pictures and match the pictures with right natural disasters.Then learn the names of them together. Drought:A long period of dry weather when there is not enough water for plants and animals to live. Floods:A very large amount of water that covers an area that is usually dry. Earthquake:A sudden shaking of the Earth’s surface that often causes a lot of damage . Typhoon:A very violent tropical storm. heat waves:A period of unusually hot weather, especially one that continues for a long time. Sandstorm:A strong storm in the desert .
Tick out the sentences where natural disasters make bad and great effects. Give reasons for your options.

Step 3: Listening

Before playing the listening, ask students to read the options to predict the main idea ,then listen and choose the right option.
Read description. Then play the listening to judge if the description is right and correct the wrong information.
Before listening, let students read the text and know the missing parts.Then play the listening to get the key words to fill in the blanks and check their answers.

Step 4: Dialogue learning |
Listen to the recording. Read the dialogue in pairs ,underline the sentences which are used to express the attitude and opinion. Then check the answers.
Analyze the important words and phrases of the dialogue: strike,frequently,force,pollute,cancel, due to,protection,smog,make a change.

Know how to express the effects of the natural disaster. 2)Make own dialogue and think of how to express the effects of the natural disaster,then act it out in front of the class. 3)Teacher gives some advice and corrects mistakes.
