    Food production does great harm to our environment. There are many procedures involved in the manufacture of food that result in greenhouse gases and other pollut ants. Some procedures require the consumption of large amounts of fossil fuels, such as the transportation and storage of food products. Other factors that cause great damage to our environment include the overuse of fresh w ater.
    The production of beef is more damaging to the environment than that of any other food w e consume. Raising large numbers of cattle requires the production of large amounts of food for the animals. It’s estimated that producing one pound of beef requires seven pounds of feed.
    Land use is also a problem. If the cattle are free-range cattle, large areas of land are required for them to live on. This has led to disastrous forest cutting and the loss of rare plants and animal species, particularly in tropical rain forests in Central and South America.
    Another problem specific to beef production is methane emissions ( 甲烷排放). Although many
    people are aw are of the damaging effects of carbon dioxide, they don’t realize methane’s global

    Unfortunately, beef consumption is grow ing rapid ly. This is the result of simple supply and demand factors.     Nuclear energy has alw ays been controversial. The w orld is divided — some countries are planning more nuclear plants, w hile others have promised to shut theirs dow n.
    After Fukushima, Germany decided to sw itch off all its nuclear plants by 2022. Sw itzerland and Italy are also phasing out nuclear pow er. But France and the Unit ed States remain staunch supporters of atomic energy. In fact, almost 80% of France’s electricity comes from nuclear pow er, the highest percentage in the w orld. And in the US, the administration said it “continues to support the expansion of nuclear pow er”.
    Nuclear supporters claim unclear pow er can help the environment. Unlike fossil fuels, nuclear pow er doesn’t create greenhouse gases. So, pro-nuclear countries argue that nuclear pow er allow s them to generate energy w ithout contributing to clim ate change. Brit ain’s chief scientif ic adviser supports this view. He recently said that the w orld doesn’t have the luxury of ignoring nuclear energy.
    Nuclear pow er is also relat ively cheap. Renew able energy sources such as solar, hydro and w ind pow er may be clean, but they’ re expensive; and right now, they require a lot of investment. This higher cost of using “green energy” is usually passed onto the consumer. So, w hile many people may prefer their energy to come from a renew able source, not so many are prepared to pay higher energy bills.     The main argument against nuclear energy is that it isn’t safe. For a start, nuclear w aste is very difficult to dispose of, and remains toxic to humans for thousands of years.     1、本题总分为 25 分,按 5 个档次给分。
    2、评分时,先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次,然后以该档次的要求来衡量,确定或调整

    5、拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面。评分时应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英、美拼写 及词汇用法均可接受。
    (二)评分标准: 第五档(很好);(21-25 分)
    1. 完全完成了试题规定的任务。
    2. 覆盖所有内容要点。
    3. 应用了较多的语法结构和词汇。
    4. 语法结构或词汇方面有些许错误,但为尽力使用较复杂结构或较高级词汇所致;具备较强的语言运用能
    力。
    5. 有效地使用了语句间的连接成分,使全文结构紧凑。
    6. 完全达到了预期的写作目的。

    第四档(好):(16-20 分)
    1. 完全完成了试题规定的任务。
    2. 虽漏掉 1、2 个次重点,但覆盖所有主要内容。
    3. 应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。
    4. 语法结构或词汇方面应用基本准确,些许错误主要是因尝试较复杂语法结构或词汇所致。
    5. 应用简单的语句间的连接成分,使全文结构紧凑。
    6. 达到了预期的写作目的。

    第三档(适当):(11-15 分)
    1. 基本完成了试题规定的任务。
    2. 虽漏掉一些内容,但覆盖所有主要内容。
    3. 应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。
    4. 有一些语法结构或词汇方面的错误,但不影响理解。
    5. 应用简单的语句间的连接成分,使全文内容连贯。
    6. 整体而言,基本达到了预期的写作目的。

    第二档(较差):(6-10 分)
    1. 未恰当完成试题规定的任务。
    2. 漏掉或未描述清楚一些主要内容,写了一些无关内容。
    3. 语法结构单调、词汇项目有限。
    4. 有一些语法结构或词汇方面的错误,影响了对写作内容的理解。
    5. 较少使用语句间的连接成分,内容缺少连贯性。
    6. 信息未能清楚地传达给读者。

    第一档(差):(1-5 分)
    1. 未完成试题规定的任务。
    2. 明显遗漏主要内容,写了一些无关内容,原因可能是未理解试题要求。
    3. 语法结构单调、词汇项目有限。
    4. 较多语法结构或词汇方面的错误,影响对写作内容的理解。
    5. 缺乏语句间的连接成分,内容不连贯。
    6. 信息未能传达给读者。

    M: Yeah. We really en joy eating and it goes slow. Last w inter, a friend from Portugal w ent to Belg ium w ith me. For Christmas dinner, w e met at 5:30 and then w e started w ith some drinks . I think w e ate from 6 o’clock in the afternoon till 12 o’clock that night.
    W: Wow ! You must be fat there if you eat that much.
    M: In fact w e don’t. We don’t do it that often, but if w e do, then of c ourse the next day or the next few days you
