Unit 3 : What Are You Going to Do?
一、Teaching Aims:
1. Knowledge objectives:
① The students can listen, speak, read and write: visit, learn Chinese, plan for…, What are you going to do? I’m going to… ② The students can listen, speak and read: hear, summer vacation, go to Australia, What is she / he going to do? She / He is going to…; What are you / they going to do? We / They are going to…
2. Ability aims:
By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. use structure “be going to” to talk about the plans.
2. write a plan with the structure: be going to.
3.Predicted area of difficulty:
学生能够熟练运用be going to 结构谈论各种计划并写简单的句子。
二、Teaching methods: Task-based teaching approach, TPR, Situational language teaching,
三、Teaching aids: Pictures,cards and CAI
四、Teaching Procedures:
Step I : Greetings and assessment.
Divide the students into three groups. And ask them to try their best to get more stars.
设计意图:介绍评价方式并以此贯穿全课,激励学生的学习积极性。
Step II : Presentation
1. Warm up: Let’s play a bomb game!
设计意图:教师采用TPR教学法,以游戏的方式带领学生复习学过动词和动词短语,激发学生已有的知识储备,同时为后面的环节做好铺垫。

T: What did you learn from the micro-video at home yesterday?
Ss: be going to + 动词原形。
T: Great! Now let’s think and guess the plan for our lesson. Please use the sentence structure: Maybe we are going to…. Who wants to try?
Ss: Maybe we are going to play a game. / Maybe we are going to study some new words. / Maybe we are going to read the text. / ……
设计意图:通过猜今天的教学计划,检测学生在家学习be going to 的掌握情况。
- Check up 2! Talk show!
① T: Wonderful! I know all of you did a good job at home. Look! I am going to read books this weekend. What are you going to do? S1: I’m going to do my homework.
T: What are you going to do? S2: I’m going to swim.
T: Good! Now, please practice the dialogue with your partner.

② Teacher shows some cards with verb phrases and ask three students: What are you going to do? Ss: We are going to go to the library. / We are going to fly kites. / ……
③ T: Please look at this picture carefully. What are they going to do?
Ss: They are going to go to school. / They are going to play soccer. / ……
④ T: They are going to ride bikes. What are you going to do?
S1: I am going to play the piano.
T: What is S1 going to do?
S2: She is going to play the piano.
T: Great! Three students a group and practice the dialogue.

设计意图: 通过多种不同的对话练习方式检测学生对be going to的运用, 培养学生综合语言运用能力。

T: Let’s play a guessing game! Please guess what are they going to do this weekend?
① T: What is he going to do this weekend? Ss: He is going to……
T: Right! He is going to learn Chinese. (Teach the new phrase: learn Chinese. And teach the synonym: study.)
② T: What is she going to do this weekend? Ss: She is going to……
T: Good! She is going to go to Beijing.
③ T: What are they going to do this weekend? Ss: They are going to ……
T: Yes! They are going to visit the museum. (Teach the new word: visit. And teach the pronunciation / I / .)
设计意图: 通过猜的游戏巩固be going to的用法,同时处理文本中的新授词汇和短语。

T: Please listen to the tape and answer the questions on the paper.

T: Six students a group read the text in roles. Then answer the questions on the paper.

设计意图:读课文回答问题,让学生深入理解文本,同时培养学生朗读技能。
7. Further reading!
T: Please read the passage on your paper carefully, then write the answers down!

设计意图:拓展阅读,培养学生基本的阅读技巧。
8. Writing show!
T: I know your favorite days are the summer vacation. Now six students a group try to write the plan for the summer vacation.
Check some groups.
设计意图:通过书写展示,进一步巩固be going to 的用法。
9. Summarize the assessment: How many stars did you get?
设计意图:总结课堂评价,鼓励学生学习英语的热情。
10. Give some words to the students: Better plan! Better life!
设计意图: 提升对学生的情感教育。
