展开策略一 概括文章中心一篇完整的文章必有其中心。每一段落都要服务于中心。总结文章的中心思想,并理解原材料的内容,知晓故事情节发展方向,我们就能顺藤摸瓜,依据常理,以服务中心为原则,设计下一段的情节,这就是续写。总结文章的中心可以从以下两方面着手:
一、找出文章的主题好文章常有“语不惊人死不休”的开头,为的是吸引读者继续读下去。这样的开头要么为文章中心的表述做好铺垫,要么开门见山,直奔主题。总之仔细理解文首,有利于掌握文章的中心思想。很多时候文章的第一句就是主题句。找出了主题句,就掌握了文章的中心。对于议论较多的夹叙夹议文章来说,由于受文章篇幅的限制,一篇文章一般只谈论一个主题。因此主题句常位于文中的四个地方:①主题句在文首,文章结构成倒三角形,如图一所示;②主题句在文末,文章采用归纳法进行论述,文章结构成正三角形,如图二所示;③主题句在文中,先采用归纳法得出结论,然后讲故事,以作例证。此时,文章结构成菱形,如图三所示;
④主题句在文首和文尾构成首尾呼应,文章结构成纺锤形,如图四所示。由此可见有一半的文章可以在文首找到主题句。也就是说像图一和图四这样结构的故事比较常见,因为人们阅读与写作时都喜欢开门见山。另有四分之一的文章的主题句在文章的中间段落,如图三所示。文章开头给出一种现象或一个问题等引出主题,然后进行分述或解释,再归纳出主题。这类结构的故事往往从文中开始叙述。这类故事的主题句在实际阅读中也是非常明显的。
二、归纳文章的中心如上所述,只有少数故事的主题句在文末,如图二所示。此时主题的归纳变成了考生必须续写的结尾。这样的文章需要我们用归纳法找出主旨大意和中心思想。归纳就是找出公共信息。阅读时找出每句话之间的公共信息。每读完一段后,用一句话(英汉皆可)归纳出段落大意,写在段落的边空上。对比各段的大意,找出段落的公共部分便概括出全文大意。这就是归纳或总结。在一篇文章的主题句不很明确的情况下,这是最有效的概括文章大意的方法。
根据文章的中心与情节的进展结合生活常识就可以轻松设计出需要续写的内容。
围绕文章中心,续写的第一段就情节的发展问三个问题:下一个情节是什么?为什么?各个角色会怎么做?续写第二段回答一个问题:关于此事主人公有怎样的感想?只要不偏离主题,紧跟情节的进展,结合生活常识,续写内容自然能轻松地推演出来。
典型例题阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使其构成一篇完整的短文。“I hate them!I really hate them!” shuted Tm angrily.Tara and Mike lked at their friend.They culdn’t believe it.He was really furius!“Andy is OK nw,” said Tara,trying t calm Tm dwn.The three friends were in the park after schl.They were talking abut their friend Andy.Andy was the yungest in the class and tday tw bullies (欺凌者) pushed him against a lcker and hurt him.Andy fell and cut his head.Nw he has five stitches(缝针) in his frehead.

策略二 领会故事背景要完成读后续写,首先要理解材料;要理解材料,首先要了解材料的特点。读后续写的材料就是故事。理解故事首先要领会文章的背景,包括故事发生的时间、地点和原因。故事发生的背景有大小之分,大的可能以第二次世界大战为背景,小背景的故事可能发生于在家里做作业的时候。小背景的故事可以描写几分钟或几小时内发生的事情,故事可能只与某一地点有关,只涉及一到两人。大背景的故事则不一样。时间跨度有几年、十几年甚至几十年。大背景的地点跨度涉及几个国家。人物可能涉及很大的群体。

领会背景表面看来,故事背景很大,时间跨度接近十年,面积之大涉及大西洋两岸的美法两国。实际背景很小,只涉及马克斯·弗里登堡和收到漂流瓶的法国人。所以续写要比较精细。

策略三 把握时间脉络读后续写的原材料都是故事。故事多按时间顺序展开,文章中的时间线索出现在不同段落的句子中。阅读时留意每段开头第一、二两句的时间状语,有利于把握文章的时间线索。不同的时间人们会在不同地点做不同的事情。当时间状语不明显时,时间线索会以某一地点或某一行为的方式存在。
典型例题(2020浙江7月改编)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。One fall,my wife Elli and I had a single gal:t phtgraph plar bears. 思路分析本文的主题语境属于人与自然。文章讲述了主人公拍摄北极熊的一次危险经历,重点描述了主人公遭遇北极熊以及与北极熊斗争的惊险过程,阐述人与动物和谐相处的主旨。把握线索我们可以将读后续写材料中发生的事情,按照时间顺序串联起来,这样就可以得到故事梗概,并预测故事发展的方向:as we cked dinner→as the bear tried t tear dwn the fence with his massive paws→after we radied the camp manager fr help

策略四 洞悉文章结构读后续写的材料是故事,故事由起、承、转、合四个部分构成。“起”就是开端。在故事的开端部分作者会陈述故事的背景、事情的起因等。有的故事开端会很平直,或开宗明义、单刀直入;有的会设置悬念、引人思考;有的也会平铺直叙、留有余地。总之成功故事的开端会引人注目。“承”就是承接。“起”部分给出事情的起因,实质就是冲突。故事的承接部分会使冲突进一步发展,直到高潮的出现。好故事的承接部分内容充实,推进自然,承上启下。故事的承接部分包含大量细致的情节,包括动作的描述、心理的变化、会话的表达等。
“转”就是变化。文似看山不喜平。好故事的情节都有起伏变化,跌宕有致而又合乎情理。读后续写题中的“转”常常是要求考生续写的第一段。“合”就是结尾。好故事的结尾会意义深远,赋有韵味。圆满的结局让人愉悦,悲剧性结尾让人伤感。有的故事在结尾处点明主题,首尾呼应;还有故事在结尾处启发联想,发人深省。不管怎样,一般故事结尾都会干脆利落,使整个故事剧情完整。读后续写题中的“合”常常是要求考生续写的第二段。

洞悉结构我们可以通过起、承、转、合来分析文章的结构。起:史蒂夫拿起打棒球的球棒和手套跟妈妈道别,要去找保罗。说完他兴致勃勃地离开了。文章交代了他们计划组建新生球队。此时保罗正在屋外等候史蒂夫。见到史蒂夫后,保罗告诉他,他必须先帮助蒂普森先生打扫完车库后才能去打球。此时史蒂夫提出要和保罗一起打扫蒂普森先生的车库。承:接着在打扫车库的过程中保罗发现了一沓钱。此时两个孩子在对待钱的问题上产生分歧。保罗认为可以拿走一些钱作为他劳动的报酬,而史蒂夫觉得应该放在原地不动。故事至此已经彰显出史蒂夫诚实的品格,在史蒂夫的坚持下他们把钱放回原处。
转:此时要求考生开始续写第一段。首句是:这时蒂普森先生带着一个盒子走进了车库。合:此时要求考生开始续写第二段。首句是:孩子们打扫完车库,开始切巧克力蛋糕。从第二段的首句可知:蒂普森先生带来的盒子里装的是巧克力蛋糕。无疑,在续写的第一段中,蒂普森先生要对孩子说一些表示感谢的话。然后说明那个巧克力蛋糕是给他们吃的。那一沓钱的事情可以作为考生选择表达的内容。如果不提钱的事情,考生也可以选择谈论保罗妈妈的近况,来表现他们一家乐于助人的品格。总之只要与前文能够融合就可以将故事展开。
在续写的第二段中,说孩子们吃完后去打球,最后表述孩子们的心情,也未尝不可。如果能够设计此时蒂普森先生给他们带来更大的惊喜,会将故事情节推向高潮。

策略五 厘清人物关系了解故事中的人物特点和人物关系是续写的基础,若不仔细分析,续写中人物的行为很有可能不合逻辑。对于人物特点,作者有时会通过文字直接说明,有时会通过细节描写进行刻画。在大多数故事中,人物之间的关系并不会明确地说出来,但是我们可以通过故事中某些暗含的信息挖掘出来。厘清故事中人物之间的关系及各自的特点需把握文章的语言特点,可从以下两个方面入手:
1.通过关键词句在材料中,许多关键词语,如名词、动词、形容词、副词等,都暗示了故事中人物之间的关系或人物的特征。例如2021年新高考全国Ⅰ卷的读后续写材料中,首句中的The twins告诉我们,Jenna和Jeff是一对双胞胎兄妹;“They had watched their mther in the kitchen.There was nthing t it.”暗示了兄妹俩年纪还小,并无做饭经验,只是看过而已,在他们看来,做饭似乎是一件轻而易举的事情;“The pair went dwn the stairs quietly t the kitchen.”中的副词quietly暗示了兄妹俩不愿意惊动父母的行为特点。2.通过人物对话许多故事中都会有人物对话,从这些对话中,我们可以得知人物关系和人物特点。

思路分析本文是一篇记叙文。文章记叙了Mrs.Meredith 和她的三个孩子帮助家庭贫困的Bernard赚钱养家的故事。人物关系读后续写材料中“‘I wish yu culd see him,’she said t her wn children,Jhn,Harry,and Clara.‘He is such a help t his mther.He wants very much t earn sme mney,but I dn’t see what he can d.’”表明了Jhn,Harry和Clara是三兄妹,she是妈妈;这段话还说明了他们要帮助的那个男孩的处境:他是他妈妈的重要帮手,他很想挣钱,却没有门路。

策略六 跟踪情节变化故事情节是指故事中所描写的事件发展、演变的全过程。情节是故事主体,是作品的生命,没有情节就不称其为故事。故事情节一般包括开端(beginning)、发展(rising actin)、高潮(climax)、结局(ending)四部分。有的故事的开端前还有序幕(prlgue),结局中还包括尾声(epilgue)。
