Peng Shilu was brn in a family f heres in Haifeng, Guangdng in 1925. When he was less than five years ld, his parents died. In 1956, Peng Shilu was asked, “Are yu willing t change yur research field?”

In the early 1960s, China’s develpment f nuclear submarines (核潜艇) was almst a “blank”. Peng Shilu and ther scientists were learning, explring and practicing.
