第07讲 used to用法

       【学习目标】

1、要求学生掌握used to概念和用法。

2、掌握used to 与be used to 区别。

3、掌握used to 各种句式。

        【基础知识】

used to do 泛指过去习惯性的动作或状态，但如今已不存在了（强调与现在对比，暗示现在不做了）。其中to为动词不定式符号，后接动词原形。used to 只用于过去时态，没有人称和数的变化。可以没有时间状语。意为：主语过去常常做或过去是…

一、结构：

1、肯定形式：主语 + used to + 动词原形

eg: I used to smoke a lot.              

eg: I used to have long hair.

eg: I used to be fat.         

eg: I used to go to the cinema, but I never have time now.

Tom曾经是警察。_______________________________

我过去在一家商店工作。_______________________________

2、否定形式：有2种情况

1）： sb didn't use to do       2）：sb usedn't to do

eg:  My father didn't use to drink.

My father usedn't to drink.

3、一般疑问式

1）： Did sb use to do…..?

回答：Yes, sb did ;  No , sb didn’t .     

2）:  Used sb to do…..?

回答：Yes，sb used to ;  No, sb usedn’t to .

eg:--- Did you use to wear glasses ?

----Yes ,I did ;  / No, I didn’t .

eg:--- Used you to wear glasses?

  ----Yes, I used to . / No, I usedn't.

4、反义疑问句

1）：主语 + used to do sth , didn't + 主语？

2）：主语 + used to do sth , usedn't + 主语？

  eg: Your wife used to be a teacher, didn't she?

  eg: Your wife used to be a teacher, usedn't she?

5、特殊句式：there used to be ....   过去常常有...... 。

eg: There used to be a tall tree in front of my house.

二、used to 相关词组的辨析

1、be/get used to sth/doing sth 习惯(做)某事

eg：I am used to the hot weather here.

eg: I am used to getting up early in the morning.

2、be used to do  sth =be used for doing sth 被用于做某事

eg:  The knife is used to cut bread.

= The knife is used for cutting bread.
