Nowadays, handwriting seems to become less necessary, for young children learn to tap and touch screens before they have even learned to pick up a pencil or tie their shoelaces. Most of our written communication is done through texting on mobile phones or typing on a keyboard. And voice recognition software is becoming more and more advanced - making even keyboard unnecessary!

So,are handwriting skills important to your child? Actually handwriting is an exercise in eye-hand coordination(手眼协调)skillswhich are connected with achievements in study. Scientists found that developing fine visual-motor(视觉运动)skills in early childhood can predict not only writing success, but better performance in reading and math in primary school. It was also found that kids who fail to write neatly and efficiently are often accused of being lazy. And this may affect their behavior and self-worth. Moreover, a study showed that when a group of children were asked to come up with ideas for an essay, the ones with better handwriting were more active and had quicker minds. In some ways, handwriting helps their brains' development.

The first attempts at writing can be challenging for preschool children whose necessary fine motor skills are not yet fully developed. But some skills to prepare for handwriting are simple to build at home and in preschool. Parents should provide lots of opportunities for kids to copy and draw shapes and simple pictures in early childhood before letters are introduced.Let your child copy your shapes in sand, or with chalk on a board before trying to draw shapes on their own. Encourage your child to spend less time on electronic devices and more time on activities to improve eye-hand coordination.

Let's face it-technology is certain to continue developing and more research is needed to find the best ways to teach handwriting to young children. But there's plenty of evidence that the handwriting practice young children get can provide a jump start in developing skills needed for a healthy and successful journey in school.

    24.Accordng to paragraph 1,handwriting is

    A.used less for communication now.

B.easy to learn on a touch screen.

    C.more difficult than typewriting.

D.totally replaced by voice recognition software.

25.How does the author explain the benefits of handwriting?

    A.By stating some research finding.

B.By giving examples of the kids around him.

C.By quoting some news reports on handwriting.

D.By analyzing data about pupils with good grades.

26.What does the author suggest parents do?

A.Keep young children away from electronic devices.

B.Teach preschool children to write letters with chalk.

C.Help children get ready for handwriting before school.

D.Encourage children to face writing challenges bravely.

27.What can be the best title for the text?

A.Does poor handwriting really mean being lazy?

    B.How can handwriting affect children's self-confidence?

C.Should handwriting be taken seriously in children's growth?

D.Should homework be done through handwriting or typewriting?

    C

“Do you know what love is?" It replies,“As an AI language model,I do not have persona experiences or emotions,so I do not know what love is in the way that humans do.However, general, love can be described as a strong fecling of affection, care, and attachment towards someone or something. It can take many forms, such as romantic love, familial love, or platonic (柏拉图式的)loveand is often associated with feelings of happinessfulfillmentand connection."

You see, ChatGPT is a new artificial intelligence (AI) technology that enables natural language conversations between humans and machines, which is, quite simply, the best and most special artificial intelligence chatbot ever released to the general public. It was built by Open AI, the San Francisco A. I. company that is also responsible for tools like GPT-3 and DALL-E 2,the breakthrough image generator that came out this year.

“Tools such as ChatGPT presents a real risk of skilled and semi-skilled workers losing their jobs. For example, chatbots can be developed to trai employees in an organization, resulting in the redundancy of human trainers.” “Certain jobs in sectors such as journalism, higher education, graphic and software design are at risk of being replaced by AI,”said Chinmay Hegde, a computer science and electrical engineering associate professor at New York University, who calls ChatGPT in its current state “very, very good, but not perfect.“

Thus,ChatGPT isn't perfect, by any means. Especially the way it generates responses makes it tend to give wrong answers, even on seemingly simple math problems. There are also plenty of things ChatGPT won't do, as a matter of principle.

Problems do not stop. New York City's Department of Education announced a ban on the wildly popular chatbot ChatGPT, which some have warned could inspire more student cheating from its schools' devices and networks. In order to find out what the public thinks about using ChatGPT in schools, online course provider Study. com surveyed more than 100 educators and more than 1,000 students over the age of 18.

28.How does the author start this text?

A.By explaining the way ChatGPT works.

B.By listing astonishing figures about ChatGPT.

C.By showing the effect of ChatGPT on people's daily life.

D.By providing a conversation between him and ChatGPT.

29.Why is ChatGPT different from the previous chat robots?

    A.It has more advanced functions.

    B. It can create more natural conversations.

    C. It can bring people comfort and inspirations.

    D. It enables people to solve more difficult questions.

30.What will probably be written following the last paragraph?

    A. The advantages of ChatGPT.

    B. The potential users of ChatGPT.

C.The results of a survey on ChatGPT.

D.The reaction from the users on ChatGPT.

31.What is the main idea of the text?

    A.ChatGPT and its negative future.

    B.The Positive coming of ChatGPT.

C.ChatGPT inspires and helps the Whole World.

D.Advanced Chatbot ChatGPT comes with its own limits.

    D

As the mother of an eleven-year-old girl, I have read several books that tell parents how to bring up a girl to be beautiful, elegant, confident, and rich. However,I have always believed that girls need to be brave above all else, but this is easier said than done.

I still remember I couldn't see the screen directly when my daughter switched to the animal channel, which was broadcasting a show about snakes. I stood as far away from the TV as possible, too scared to open my eyes. However, my little angel was not scared of the snakes. In fact, she watched the show with a deep interest. I was relieved that my daughter didn't get too many genetic phobias(遗传恐惧症). Even to this dayshe is still obsessed(着迷)with challenging herself with new things.

This year, I got a chance to study in Singapore for six months. After the novelty of the first few days had gone, I found myself missing my family. With the summer vacation approaching, my husband agreed to make good use of the fact that I was staying in Singapore. He brought our daughter out to visit me and to enjoy the new experience in a new country.

The reunion day finally came. My husband and my daughter arrived in the second week of July.I was so looking forward to seeing them. I had made many preparations for their visit. On the first day, I arranged for us to see Gardens by the Bay. When we walked out of the MRT station, we were amazed at the sight of the Super Trees. When my daughter saw lots of people walking on the Skyway, she couldn't help shouting excitedly that she wanted to have a try. The Skyway is a 22-meter-high suspension bridge from which you can enjoy a birds-eye view.Last time I came here with my friendsI firmly rejected(拒绝)their repeated attempts to challenge me to go up there. It was like the day with the snakes all over again. But could I really reject my little angel?

    Paragraph 1:

My daughter was waiting for my reply.

    Paragraph 2:

Halfway across the bridge, I had to stop.
