Recently some pictures have gone really popular online. A Chinese girl is reading a newspaper. Mark Zuckerberg wears a pink coat and walks the runway (时装秀伸展台) and so on. These pictures have one thing in common—they are fake, but look like they are real. They are made by AI tools. Can you recognize (识别) whether a picture is human-made or AI-made?
AI tools like Midjourney and DALL-E can create amazing pictures. Simply type in what you want and the picture comes out in minutes. People have never been more worried than today about the spread of fake news.
However,AI tools are not faultless. News medias, including the Washington Post and the Paper gave some tips on telling fake pictures.
One way is to look at hands. AI often draws human hands incorrectly. Sometimes the number of fingers is wrong, and sometimes the shape looks strange. The photos that AI uses to learn often show hands in different ways, so it isn’t sure what a“hand”really looks like.
