General discourse study:The content of my lesson is from new Beijing University edition optional compulsory two.
1.From the content of the text,this is the first lesson in this unit,which tells us the author’s attitude towards adapted films..Its content belongs to the context of human and society theme -literature and art.
2.From the language of the text,the length of this article is relatively long,the full text including 498 words.In addition to some new words( e.g.visualise,spring etc.),there are some movie vocabulary(e.g. adaption,cast, screenwriter,critic etc.).
There are also some complex phrases or sentences structures that students need to understand :highly regarded books,previously unfilmable ,this is where I think many film adaptions fall down
3.From the structure of the text,It is a critical article,using the “total-sub-total”structure.According to the characteristics of the text,students are guided to acquire new knowledge,sort out text content,summarize and integrate information through various reading strategies,such as perdition,skimming,detailed reading and generalization.In the process of reading,guide the students to guess the meaning of words from the context and use them.
The meaning of the paper’s theme is that as an art critic ,the author reviews the movie adapted from the book,which makes people think about reading and writing movie
