教材分析
该板块的活动主题是“写摘要”(Write a summary)。要求学生在读完关于海啸的新闻报道之后，为单元主篇阅读编写摘要。阅读文本是一则专题新闻。文本语言属于即时性的新闻报道，表达准确、简明扼要，只讲述事实，不带感情色彩。文章标题醒目，直接说明事件。与简短的新闻报道不同的是，专题报道的文本更加丰富，如加入了当地居民和官员的话语，加强了真实感。
教学目标
1. 能正确理解使用下列词汇与海啸新闻报道相关的表达。
2. 掌握新闻报道的摘要的语篇特征。
3. 学会写纪实性新闻报道的摘要。
教学重难点
【教学重点】
帮助学生掌握新闻摘要的写作特点和语言特色，完成摘要写作任务。
【教学难点】
掌握新闻摘要的既高度凝练又表达有力的语言特色。
教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Students watch the vide Tsunami: Killer Wave. Then answer the fllwing questins:
What is a tsunami?
What causes it?
Will it cause great damage t human beings？
Step 2 Pre-writing
1. Wrk n Activity 1. Read the news reprt released the day after a tsunami and answer the questins:
(1) When did the tsunami happen?
(2) What caused the tsunami?
(3) Why wuld it be difficult t deliver fd and supplies?
2. Wrk n Activity 2. Read the summary f the news reprt. Then check the main pints it includes.
设计意图：复现有助于加深记忆。该环节利用不同阶段的教学内容之间的关联性，帮助学生以旧带新、巩固所学、构建知识体系。
Step 3 While-writing
1. Wrk n Activity 3 Exercise 1. Students read the text n page 50 and write a list f the main details.
2. Wrk n Activity 3 Exercise 2. Write dwn the main idea f each paragraph based n the details abve.
3. Wrk n Activity 3 Exercise 3. Organise the ideas and draft the summary.
Wrk n Activity 3 Exercise 4. Students exchange their drafts and give feedback n their partners’ draft using the given checklist.
Students get their drafts back and revise them.
设计意图：学生通过研习所给摘要范本，分析体会新闻摘要的语言特点，从而为其实战演练搭建脚手架。
Step 4 Pst-writing
Students get the final versin f their summaries. Teacher chses sme and let the student reads t the class.
设计意图：学生展示自己的作品，学生互评、老师点评。
Step 5 Assignment
Read the text China t the Rescue! n Page 94. Then write a summary based n this text.
设计意图：强化练习，巩固新闻摘要的写法。
