Teaching Procedures:
Step1 Free talk (1)Ask student two questions. what’s your feeling about your new school life? Do you want to join any school club?
(Justifications:Ask students how they feel about high school life and what they know about campus clubs to prepare for the learning tasks of this lesson.)
Step2 Listening
(1)Encourages students to predict before listening to the conversation and ask students to go through the steps of part A1 and circle the key information.
(Justifications:Encourage and motivate students to read the questions, guess the content of the dialogue to maximize the listen ability before listening)
(2)Students listen to the conversation for the first time and finish the exercise of A1. (3)Students read A2, try filling in the blanks and then check their answers.
(Justifications:Two listening exercises are used to train students' listening ability and improve their ability to find key information at the same time)
(4)The teacher shows the students how to circle the key information before listening Example:
(Justifications:Teach students listening strategies to improve the accuracy
Step3 speaking 1.Ask the students to retell the listening material by key words (Justifications:Exercise the students' oral expression ability and practice the listening strategies they have just learned)
2.Discuss the club you want to start with the group members.Then,invite a group representative to share in the stage. (Justifications:Exercise the students' oral expression ability and practice the listening strategies they have just learned)
Step 4 Summary and Homework
1.Conclusion The students were allowed to summarize what they had learned today on their own(listening strategy and how to apply to start a club).the teacher added to it in time. (Justifications:Help students consolidate what they have learned today, )
2.Self-check Providing the knowledge and ability the standard that should be accomplished in this lesson so that students have a clear understanding of their own abilities (Justifications:Allowing students to conduct self-assessment to meet the requirements of the new curriculum for multiple assessments)
3.Homework Retell the listening material in your own words by using the listen strategy. (Justifications:Practice your speaking ability and review the listening strategies learned in class )
