Finally, after nearly half a month, the Christmas letter was here in my hand. Yes, writing letters is how my friend in the U.S. and I 16 our greetings every Christmas. People ask why not send our greetings on Facebook, or on WeChat 17 , and by the way, it’ll save money. For me, writing letters is more of a 18 habit than a quirk (怪癖) in modern times.I,an experienced letter writer, can tell you that writing letters brings me more emotional(情感的) communication.
In fact, only parts of our emotions can be found. Some 19 in California State University found that electronic devices, like smart phones, can greatly influence people in many ways. Such devices prevent people from 20 their inner (内心的) feelings. Compared with modern communication, writing letters has more advantages. 21 we write, our brain is given the chance to discover connections between things we didn’t see before. And we are 22 to show our emotions fully.
If I am here to tell you why I love writing letters, one of the 23 would be its sense of touch﹣feeling of my hand running through the pages, feeling of pen sliding across the paper, and feeling of the 24 of ink (墨水) in the air.
It 25 that both your words and the letter itself can help you express your feelings. Letters build a bridge between the writer and receiver.People experience more when they receive messages in the form of a letter, rather than any other media.

“Made in China”is having its moment now—and it’s a fashionable one.
The story of Chinese fashion began in 2011 when Feiyue and Huili,
both Chinese sports shoe brands(品牌), suddenly got international attention .Their products were seen all over the world. Chinese sportswear brand Li
Ning was at the New York Fashion Week in September, 2018. They showed their new designs—sweaters and jackets with Chinese characters.
Shaun Rein, managing director of China Market Research Group, said that the latest Chinese brands no longer catch customers’ eyes by low price. He told CNN,“They are sure that they can go head to head with foreign brands.”
Maybe it is because China’s young people are now more confident about their own culture. They don’t show immediate interest in western culture any more.
“Today’s young people in China are crazy about Chinese cultural elements(元素),”Jin Qu, the manager of a clothing shopping website, said at a cultural festival in 2018.“They like these elements printed on their clothes, even the brand picture of Laoganma in China, which was once seen as outside of fashion. But now young people are proud of these Chinese symbols.”
In fact, many stars in the West are now interested in Chinese cultural elements in fashion. Rihanna, a US singer, for example, wore a Chinese red dress to the 2015 Met Gala in New York. The dress was designed and made by Chinese designer Guo Pei.
“We have to move from making to creating,” ChineseAmerican designer Aric Chen once told The New York Times.“We want to replace the words ‘Made in China’ with ‘Designed in China’.”

Though times have changed, falling asleep in class is still a common occurrence(常事)among teenagers.
Why do students sometimes fall asleep in class? An obvious reason is lack of sleep. However, there are also causes for getting too little sleep.
Homework is a daily occurrence for most students, one that can take three to four hours per night. A teenager who wants to be able to take part in any activity besides homework must stay up late to fit everything in. Club activities, sports, computer﹣game playing, and TV viewing. for example, all contribute to (促成) teens having less time for both homework and sleep.Sometimes teens lack sleep because of after﹣school jobs that are taken on to earn extra money for college, family expenses, or simply for clothes.
Physical problems are another factor that can cause students to fall alseep in class. For example, insomnia, which may keep a student up at night, causing exhaustion(疲惫不堪)during class hours,is a serious problem that may require medical attention. Medical evidence also supports the idea that each person has a body clock that helps to decide his or her sleep pattern. Unluckily, these body clocks do not always work according to school timetables.
The effects of falling asleep in class can be quite serious. First of all, sleeping in class is not a good way to endear(使受喜爱) yourself to teachers. In addition, it is highly possible that other students may make jokes about those who sleep in class. However, the most harmful effect of sleeping in class is missing out on important points. In the long run, sleepers may end up failing classes.
Since teens are probably not going to deal with the problem, falling asleep in class will probably remain an all﹣too﹣common occurrence. It will continue until more teens find a way to balance their personal and social lives with school and work, while still finding enough time to sleep.
