    Lesson 32: I Can’t Wait for Winter!

    设计说明

    首先老师通过对相关话题的讨论自然地引入本课话题I can’t wait for winter,让学生将注意力集中到课堂中来。接着了解学生对词汇的掌握情况,对词汇掌握后,进行进一步的巩固练习。引入教材的学习。然后,通过播放录音,初步了解短文内容,了解加拿大冬天的天气,人们的着装和所从事的活动。并通过听对话回答问题;接着,读短文。利用Let’s Do It!中的练习题对文章内容进行巩固。最后,利用第4题做笔头练习,由听、说、读的训练过渡到写的训练。本节课从多个角度、多中形式上对本课的语言知识进行练习,从而达到教学目的,实现教学目标。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标

    1. 知识目标

    掌握单词:research, website, hill, ice, clear

    接触单词:snowman

    短语和句型:wait for, get...together, do some research

    I’m doing some research for my report about my favourite season.

    But don’t forget your scarves, hats and gloves.

    2.能力目标

    (1) 了解加拿大冬天的天气,人们的着装和所从事的活动;

    (2) 学习介绍冬天及活动的句式。

    能够领略冬季的美妙与快乐,培养热爱自然、热爱生活的思想。

    1. 重点:运用所学知识介绍自己所在地区春天的景色。

    2. 难点:能用英语描述家乡冬天相关的内容。

    Step 1 Lead-in

    T: Hello, everyone. Do you like winter? Why or why not?

    S1: I don’t like winter because it’s very cold here.

    S2: I like winter because I can make a snowman.

    Step 2 Presentation

    T: In this lesson we are going to learn some sentences about “winter”. At first let’s learn the new words. 

    research n. & v. 调查;研究

    website n. 网站

    hill n. 山丘;小山

    ice n.

    clear adj. 晴朗的;明亮的;清澈的

    2. Fill in the blanks with proper words according to the meaning of the first letter.

    Step 3 Reading

    Task 1

    1. Ask the students to read the lesson.

    2. Ask the students to answer the following questions.

    (1) How can people start a day in Canada?

    (2) What do people need to wear in winter in Canada?

    (3)Where can people have lunch?

    (4)What can people do in the evening?

    3. Get the students to check the answers.

    Answers:

    (1) Start a day on the ski hills or go ice skating.

    (2) People need to wear scarves, hats and gloves.

    (3) In a world-class restaurant.

    (4) Have a dinner and enjoy a clear, cold night beside a warm fire.

    Task 2

    What winter activities does the website mentionRead the lesson and make a list. Then write a sentence about each activity on the list. (Lets Do It! No. 1)

    1. Let the students think about what winter activities the website mentions.

    2. Let the students read the lesson again and write down the names of the activities.

    3. Ask the students to write a sentence about each activity on the list.

    1. Let the students listen to the passage.

    2. Get the students to put the sentences in the correct order. (Lets Do It! No. 2)

    2. My friends and I roll in the snow and have a snowball fight.

    3. I put on my scarf, hat, gloves and jacket.

    4. I’m going to play outside with my friends.

    5. Now I am ready to go out and play.

    1. Let the students look at the picture in Harbin and fill in the blanks. (Lets Do It! No. 3)

    Step 6 Work in groups

    Imagine you are a weather news team. You are doing a report about winter weather in your hometown. Present your report to the class. (Lets Do It! No. 4)

    Task tips

    What is the temperature? What clothes do you wear during this season? Why?

    What do people do during the winter in your hometown?

    An Example:

    I’ll tell you something about winter weather in my hometown. I live in Baoding, Hebei. The weather here is very cold. The temperature is often below zero. People wear warm clothes to go out. They wear scarves, hats and gloves because it often snows. Sometimes it snows heavily. Then people go out to play in the snow! They go skiinghave snowball fights or make snowmen! How happy they are! But the farmers are still busy. They are getting ready for the next year!

    Step 7 Summary

    1. Weve known about the weather in winter and can talk about some activities of people.

    2. Weve learned some useful words and phrases in this lesson.

    Step 8 Language points

    1. I’m doing some research for my report about my favourite season.

    我正在为关于我最喜欢的季节这一报告做研究。

    research n. & v. 研究;调查

    He makes researches on Chinese medicine. 他从事中医研究。

    We carried out a research into this problem. 我们对这个问题进行了研究。

    【探究总结】research的用法:

    research可与不定冠词连用,也可以用复数形式,但通常不与many或数字连用。

    research后常跟介词onintofor

    2. But don’t forget your scarves, hats and gloves. 但不要忘记你的围巾、帽子和手套。

    (1)这是一个否定祈使句。祈使句是用来表达命令、要求、请求或劝告等的句子。它通常有下列几种形式:

    第二人称祈使句。以动词原形开头,其否定形式是在谓语动词前加don’t。在祈使句中,有时我们可以加上称呼语,称呼语一般放在句子末尾;有时为了使祈使句表达得客气、 委婉,可以加上pleasewill you等。

    Don’t be late for school, Tom. 汤姆,上学不要迟到。

      Please open the door. 开门。

    第一人称祈使句。以let为引导词,句式结构为:Let me/us do sth.,其否定形式一般为:Let me/us not do sth.

    Let’s play basketball.咱们打篮球吧。

    Let’s not stay too late.我们别待得太晚了。

    第三人称祈使句。句式结构为:Let him/her/them do sth.,其否定形式为Don’t let him/her/them do sth.

    Let him go away. 让他走开。

    Don’t let anyone run away.不要让任何人跑掉。

    (2)forget是动词,意为忘记,其反义词为remember(记住,记得)。常用短语: forget to do sth.忘记去做某事(表示事情并没有做)forget doing sth.忘了做过某事(表示事情已经做过了,只是忘记了)。注意:remember的用法与forget的用法一致。

    Sorry, I forgot to turn off the light.对不起,我忘了关灯。(灯还没有关)

    I forgot turning off the light.我忘了已经关灯了。(灯已经关了)

    3. I can’t wait for winter. 冬季让我有点等不及了。

    wait是动词,意为等待,等候

    常用短语:wait for sb./sth.等候某人或某物

    wait for sb. to do sth.等待某人做某事

    can’t wait for sth.对某事物迫不及待

    can’t wait to do sth.迫不及待做某事

    Who are you waiting for? 你在等谁呢?
