设计说明 本单元是一封电子邮件,主要学习如何描述人物外貌及心理感受。在复习上一单元所学感官动词的基础上,通过谈论活动1中的图画导入课文。课文的学习以“快读—细读—读后运用”三个基本环节进行。其中,“读后运用”按照“先说后写,先易后难”的原则推进,使训练层层深入,步步为营,稳打稳扎。 教学目标 通过本单元的学习,让学生达成以下目标 1.知识目标: (1)学会本单元新单词及短语:glasses, jeans, nervous, fair, pretty, proud, stranger, message, hobby, in, mark, love, be proud of, sb. can’t wait to do…,at school (2)能用wear,with,look等词描述外貌 (3)能用feel,enjoy, sound like等词描述人的感受或爱好 2.能力目标: 能简单描述人物的外貌,描述个人爱好和感受 3.情感目标: 通过读写训练,能够了解不同性格的人表达情感的方式,学会如何与陌生人交流 重点难点 重点:用感官动词和wear,with等描述人的外貌 难点:能正确描述人的外貌、爱好及感受 教学准备 PPT课件,实物,活动2的录音 授课时数 2课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up Use the pictures of food and other things to revise the sense verbs. Make a conversation like this: — Do you like …? — Yes, I do. They/It taste(s) /feel(s)/smell(s)/sound(s)/look(s)… What about you? —I like/don’t like… —Why? —Because they/it taste(s) /feel(s)/smell(s)/sound(s)/look(s)… Step 2 Presentation 1. Look at the pictures in Activity 1 and talk about the girls with the class using the following questions: What clothes does the girl wear? What color is/are her…? Is/Are her…long or short? What does she carry? How does she look? 2. Get the class to read the words in the box and use them to describe the girls in pairs. Model: A: What does the girl look like? B: She... A: What does she carry? B: … Step 3 Fast-reading 1. Read the email quickly and find which picture is about Sally. The answer is: Picture a 2. Read the email and match the questions with the paragraphs.

A: She’s quite tall , with short fair hair, and she’s wearing glasses. She’s wearing jeans and a T-shirt and carrying a warm coat . 2. Read Para 3 and answer the questions. 1)What are Sally’s hobbies? Playing classical music, dancing and sports. 2)Who is Sally proud of ? Why? Her brother. Because he is good at everything. 3) Why does Sally sometimes feel sad? Because she gets bad marks at school. 3. Read Para 4 and complete the table.
Step 5 After-reading 1. Read the sentences that describe Sally in Para 2 again. She’s quite tall , with short fair hair, and she’s wearing glasses. She’s wearing jeans and a T-shirt and carrying a warm coat . Describe the girl in Picture b in Activity 1 by changing the words underlined in these sentences above. 2. Answer and retell. Read Para 3 and 4, and then answer the questions in Activity 5. And retell Para 4 according to the questions. 3. Read following the tape. Then read the email aloud. Step 6 Language points 1. It was great to hear from you, and I can’t wait to meet you. 收到你的来信真是太好了,我迫不及待要见到你。 (1)hear from sb. 意为“收到某人的来信”,注意from后接某人(sb.),而不接信(letter)。其同义短语为get/receive a letter from sb. 。 I hope to hear from my pen friend soon. = I hope to get a letter from my pen friend soon. 我希望不久就能收到笔友的来信。 (2)can’t wait to do sth. 意为“迫不及待做某事,等不及做某事”。 I can’t wait to open your present.我迫不及待打开你的礼物。 【拓展】wait for sb. to do sth. 等待某人做某事 My brother is waiting for me to meet him at the airport. 我弟弟正在机场等我去接他。 2. I spend a lot of time playing classical music with my friends at school. 在学校,我花费很多时间与朋友们弹奏古典音乐。 Sb. spends time/money doing sth. “某人花费时间/金钱做某事”。 Sb. spends time/money on sth. “某人花费时间或金钱在某事上”,on 后常 接名词或代词。 He spends half an hour practicing speaking English every day. 他每天花费半小时练习说英语。 He spent lots of money on books.他花了很多钱买书。 3. My brother is in the school tennis team-I’m very proud of him! 我哥哥加入了校网球队——我为他感到十分骄傲! be proud of sb. /sth. 意为“为某人或某事感到自豪、骄傲”,of 为介词, 后接名词、代词或v.-ing。 【拓展】take pride in sb./sth. 意为“以某人或某事而骄傲、自豪”,是be proud of 的同义短语。 We Chinese are proud of our great country. = We Chinese take pride in our great country. 我们中国人民以我们伟大的祖国而骄傲。 Step 7 Practice Complete the passage with the correct form of the words in the box.(Activity 6) The answers are:(1) fair (2)marks (3)hobbies (4) message (5)proud Step 8 Writing Ask students to write a message to their pen friend and describe themselves.
