教学过程 |
- Allow Ss to express their thought. - Show T’s answer on the PPT 4. T can add more ideas based on Ss’ answer. - Discuss each item, and find examples.
- Hard to remember new things.
- It’s fun. - We are relax when we read it. - We can remember because we have strong feeling. ...
Our brain is amazing. It can store our memory in different areas. When we learn new things, our brain stores the information in a short-term memory area. In this area, our brain stores the information for a short time. If we don’t use these information, it will be removed in a extremely short period, maybe in a few minutes or a day. If we use the new information more, the brain would treat it as important information, and will move it to a deeper part of the brain, and we can call it a long-term memory area. Once the information stored into the long-term memory area, we say we remember it. - And experts also find some other way to help to improve the process. In our previous discussion, Ss went through some of them. We can keep reading to find out more. - So, not only Ss, all of the people in the world face the same problem: How can we improve our memory. Or, how can the process get easier?
- What is the presenter need to remember? - What’s the key to this method? - Reflect and think of how to apply to your learning process.
- T can prepare a table on the blackboard. Or use PPT 8-10. - Discuss every paragraph in detail on all above questions.
Let’s apply very useful methods to our vocab learning. We will apply all these methods together. - Understanding. With out understanding, it’s meaningless to remember. - Fun. The more interesting, or the more estranged, the easier to remember. - Organized. Memory expert says, we need to organize things well, then, we can find it when we have a way to search. Just like a table, we put our things in different drawers, we put a label on the drawer, when we search, we can have direction. We are going to Harry potter’s Magic School to learn new words in this lesson. We have a task.
Tada... our memory’s back. It’s worth to have a try.
The Memory Game is done here. We need to have a review. T doesn’t show the PPT. And just go through the whole process again with students:
- Why do we go to the library? - We lose memory - What is the name of the library? - memory library - Where can we find a stares? - at a corner - What should we do then? - find the 100th step - What will we find there? - a book - What’s the name? - improve memory - In the book, we find a letter.What’s the title? - Memory back method. - What does the method look like? - Like a list. - What did it say? - it’s a big trouble - We use another word instead of “say, show” - mention - Can we solve the problem? - Yes. - How? - do Silly thing - What is that silly thing? - explain “water cycle”. - It is silly. Will you do that again? - If I lose memory, it’s worth to have a try.
