教学目标： At the end of the class, the students will be able to: 1. learn new words and learn to use verb + by … 2. learn and role-play the conversation in 2d. 3. learn to talk about how to improve English.
教学重点： 1. Key vocabulary: textbook, conversation, aloud, pronunciation,sentence, patient… ask sb. foe help, study for a test, give a report, word by word... 2. Key sentences: a.-How do you study for a test? -I study by working with a group. b.Does anyone learn English by watching videos? c.What about reading aloud to practice pronounciation? 3. structure: verb + by with gerund.
教学难点： verb + by with gerund.

Step 1 Warming-up (PPT 3-7)		1. Show the pictures and ask Ss“How do you study English? ” Lead in the key sentence “I study English by+V-ing.” 2. Write the pattern on the blackboard: -- How do you study English? -- I study English by + V.-ing 3.Make Ss look at the pictures and try to answer. Make a list of their answers on the blackboard.				通过图片导入本课的重点句型。通过师生的对话，在轻松的氛围中为本课的学习掀开了序幕。
Step 2 Presentation (PPT 8-9)		Work on 1a Check the ways you study English. Then add other ways you sometimes study. ___ a. by working with friends. ...... 1.Check the answers, after checking, read the ways to the Ss. 2.Encourage the Ss to put up their other ways they study English. Write some good ways what they use. 3.Answer the questions and talk about their ways freely with the pattern. 4.Ask the Ss to make conversations based on the pattern.( V. + by + V.-ing)				训练学生的口语表达能力，为听力做铺垫。使语言知识运用到实际交流中。同时开拓学生的思路，培养学生的求异思维能力。
Step 3 Listening& Practice (PPT 10)		Work on 1b 1.Play the tape for the first time for the Ss to write the letters for each one. 2.Play the tape for the second time for the Ss to check the answers. 3.Read the sample answer to the class and ask the Ss to say the other two.				听力练习为本单元新课展开话题做准备，同时调动学生的积极性，提高学生的听力水平，为后面的读写打好基础。

Step 5 Listening & Pair work (PPT 17-21)		Work on 2a-2c 1.Play the tape for the first and second time to complete 2a and 2b. 2.Check answers. 3.Make conversations using the information in 2a and 2b.				这是一个听力输入之后，口语输出的展示。创造真实的语言环境，为学生的口语训练搭建平台。基础差点的同学可以参考课件上的图片。
Step 6 Listening & Role -play (PPT 22-25)		Work on 2d 1.Play the tape for Ss to listen and answer questions. 2.Role -play the conversation. 3.Retell the conversation.				检测学生对本对话知识的掌握情况及对语言的综合运用能力。
Step 7 Language points (PPT 26-34)		1. Explain the usage of How-， by+doing，too...to, the 比较级；the 比较级。 2. Explain the other usages of by.				讲解本单元的语言点，是学生从语法角度理解本节课的重点。
Step 8 Summary (PPT 35)		Ask Ss to have a summary.				巩固本节课所学知识, 培养学生英语言的归纳总结能力。
Step 9 Exercises (PPT 36-39)		Show some exercises to practice the key words, the target language and key sentences. 1. the form by + doing 2. How…? 3. The other usage of by.				让学生能够复习运用所学的语言知识点。只有进行巩固复习，才能更好的掌握所学内容。
Step 10 中考链接 (PPT 40-41)		Ask Ss to try to do some exercises from past exam papers.				有针对地对本课重要知识点进行中考演练。
